It's good for Russia but if it becomes another place where Australian and New Zealand players can earn money it's going to further decrease our domestic talent. If they are investing in children's rugby that's great news though.

In New Zealand and Australia there is an overabundance of good players, very much competition, and a new player will replace great player who left for Europe.
Mostly players who did not have professional status or semi professionals go to Russia.
Avon Lewis from Kuban for example a former school teacher! 8-)

More players and coaches from the Southern Hemisphere who move there to play means better development and learning for Russian players.

Of course this will have a positive effect on development of rugby in Russia, and on rugby in southern hemispere will not affect in any way.

It will probably be more of a show than a sporting event.
After match an autograph session, selling souvenirs ...

I hope that such matches will become a tradition, for example matches of Russia against team of foreign league players .It would be interesting for audience.

40-0

After match anyone could go up to any player in Russian national team and get an autograph right on field.

Crowd is probably about 1000 people.
Rugby matches in Russia are like funerals. Only close relatives and friends come ...

Vova, was this match primarily against players from the Moscow region, after a proposal to play a fixture against a combined side from the 2 powerful Krasnoyarsk clubs was turned down? I've heard Krasnoyarsk, celebrating the 50th anniversary of rugby in the city, wanted to stage a match with the Bears, but the old Moscow management still holds sway on national administration. Also, is there any truth to the claim Krasnoyarsk players are being restricted to a 50% maximum representation on national age-grade squads?

Perhaps Krasny Yar and Enisei should set up a regional team - the Siberian Tigers, for example - and pursue their aims on that basis, whether it be fixtures against national teams or inclusion in Rapid Rugby, etc.

First of all Lin Jones was against game in Krasnoyarsk.
First fly 5 hours to Siberia, then play hardest match with Krasnoyarsk, and then 10 hours to Italy.
This is probably too much.

50/50 is not true. Just look at statistics. By the way today in Krasnoyarsk Moscow U18 team beat Yenisei U18 15 - 12.

I for creation of a tournament in Asia and participation of teams from Russia there, but no more.Something like Challenge Cup in Europe.
