Old game sheets can be found here: http://www.rugbyeurope.eu/rugby-europe/documentation
REC 2018 never happened. Please respect my beliefs

A senegalese named Cherokee is the new coach of the turkish national team. Quite unusual

not the right thread, but Gibraltar's Facebook announce a test friendly against Finland on April 8th
Re: 2016-17 Rugby Europe Divisions
How come the Rugby Europe games have ended so early? I haven't seen a Georgia - Romania game or a Russia - Germany game. Could somebody please clarify this for me. Thankyou.

Bro, please google something like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Rugb ... ampionship
Answer: bye-week
Edit: or even better: join the tipping competition. No better way to be up to date with the matches coming up the next weekend

How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

Thanks RugbyLiebe, although you sound sarcastic.

Sorry, I fail to understand why people in general tend to ask long questions, that a really simple google search would reveal to them within seconds.
But the tipping competition is indeed a great way to stay up-to-date. I really recommend it to everyone.

Re: 2016-17 Rugby Europe Divisions
Isn't there a promotion/relegation playoff between the lower divisions, or only the championship and the trophy?

Re: 2016-17 Rugby Europe Divisions
It does look like there should be some play-offs; e.g. for REIC & RWCQ
- 1st Conference 1 North or South V 1st Conference 1 South or North: 20th May 2017 - probably Czech Rep v Malta is supposed to be 20th May
and for RWCQ: Winner Conference 2 North or South V Winner Conference South or North - Bosnia & H v (probably )Hungary
The winners should meet the following weekend for RWCQ playoff, and then in November against the winner of the Trophy
See http://www.rugbyeurope.eu/reic-promotio ... ing-rounds
At least that is what it looks like!

The latest WR rankings update says there will be playoffs as per above post.

There will be play-offs in some conferences, for example, last one in REC vs the first in RETrophy, and two winners of Conference 1 - South and North (Czech Rep. and Malta - this will ALSO be a RWC qualifying match) will play for ONE place in RETrophy, but no play-offs in conference 2, the winners are directly promoted to conference 1, BUT there will be a RWC qualifiers between those two winners. I hope this helps at all

Re: 2016-17 Rugby Europe Divisions
What about the Development competition? Will the winner automatically be in Conference 2 next year (presumably in place of Turkey)?

Tomorrow... in central Europe time
13.00 (C2 n) Finland v Hungary http://www.rugbyeurope.tv
14.00 (C1 s) Cyprus v Croatia
15.00 (C2 n) Sweden Lithuania
15.00 (C2 n) Norway v Estonia http://www.rugbyeurope.tv
16.00 (C1 n) Luxembourg v Czech Rep. http://www.rugbyeurope.tv
- Hungary need two points to win the pool and get promoted to conference I and to the RWCQ next step
- Cyprus need a victory to overcome Andorra and avoid relegation
- Sweden need one point to be sure to avoid relegation, Lithuania need a bp-victory to hope in an unlikely first place
- Norway and Estonia have not special aims: the relegation spot should be assured to Turkey
- Luxembourg need a bp-victory to hope to avoid relegation, the czechs need just one point to be sure to win the pool

Weird that the winner of Czech/Malta will have 1 week to organize and promote a key home match. I can't see a reason why this match is not n June.
The playoff involving Portugal against the Conference 1 champions will be in November, right?

Maybe it's just me but the barrage Portugal v Belgium isn't still to be played?
They put Belgium in Championship and Portugal in Trophy
PS: ok, I've seen now on wikipedia. The barrage has been played in may and Belgium won. I totally missed (or forgot) it, I thought they were going to play it in september

Re: 2016-17 Rugby Europe Divisions
Great! So it's only the development fixtures to be confirmed from what I could see at a glance.
Other question: Portugal play Czech Republic on Novemeber 18th in pool play. Will this also double as their world cup qualifier I wonder?

Gibraltar secure great international fixtures against Hungary (in Hungary in October, and in Gibraltar in February) and home games against Finland in March and the UAE in April
