2017 Schedules
Re: 2017 Schedules
Everything is really awkward because the Cooks vs Brazil was published in the Cooks official Facebook and the Brazilan Rugby Union's (CBRu) website months ago. Nobody is inventing this fixture. I am asking CBRu and no answers...

Re: 2017 Schedules
Today the Brazilian Rugby Union launched Tupis' new uniform in a press event. They confirmed 2 home matched and 1 away:
June 10th - Brazil vs Portugal;
June 17th - Brazil vs Chile (best of 3!);
June 24th - Romania vs Brazil.
I questioned about the Cook Islands. The match was indeed confirmed but the Cooks withdrew (and I don't if they also withdrew of their Mexico match too).

Re: 2017 Schedules
The match between Argentina XV and Georgia has been cancelled, according to some local journos. Nothing yet about the game versus Uruguay.

Re: 2017 Schedules
Does anyone know if the matches between Australia, Fiji, Italy and Scotland count towards some sort of mini-tournament like South Africa hosted in 2013?
Re: 2017 Schedules
Brazil vs Portugal will be in São Paulo, again at the Pacaembu Stadium. June 10th at 1 PM (local time). Esporte Interativo, another sports channel (official broadcasters of Uefa Champions League in Brazil), will show the match. It is owned by Turner and never showed rugby before. Interesting move.
Tickets for sale online on Stubhub.

Brazil vs Chile on June 17th might be in another city. TBA.

That would be nice.

Spotted by @JuanCouselo in Ciencias Fundación Cajasol club magazine. Santiago Santos (Spanish XV coach) says Spain will play Canada and Brazil next November:

Disappointing given that they are playing this weekend too.

I asked the Brazilian Rugby Union about it. Yes said it is true Brazil will play in Europe in November and that Spain is a strong possibility, but it is not 100% yet.

Re: 2017 Schedules
Let's see if it finally happens after last November's 11th-hour switch. It would be nice, since you would have already played Portugal, Germany and Romania

Re: 2017 Schedules
Yep. They said: probably 2 or 3 from Spain, Russia, Germany, Belgium and Portugal. I think we must play Spain and Belgium. Russia I am afraid about the weather (as they never play at home in November), but it would be great too. Maybe a country like Netherlands, Switzerland, Czechia or Poland would be good as well, because we are more or less together in the Ranking.

Re: 2017 Schedules
I imagine Russia is going to Cup of Nations and focus on EPCR Challenge Cup, as they did last year. Belgium should have something more since they weren't relegated from REC.

Re: 2017 Schedules
You can not play in Krasnoyarsk in November, but you can play in the European part of Russia. Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Penza, Rostov, Krasnodar, Makhachkala and others. Good stadiums of football clubs have now become more accessible after the construction of new arenas for the WC2018.
We need home tests. This is not normal, when in June and November we have been playing for many years only away. In winter, all home games are held in Sochi.
I would like to see home tests in Russia against Uruguay-Brazil-Chile, Namibia-Kenya-Zimbabwe, Japan-Hongkong-South Korea.

Yes, I saw an article where Hong Kong had invited Russia, Kenya and PNG for the nations cup in November.

RUBBISH. UTTERLY. GRU NEVER MENTIONED THIS. EVEN UNOFFICICIALLY
Re: 2017 Schedules
WR still has it on their website and I haven't seen any links. So I think it could still be happening?
I saw someone post that it looked like they had been called off but no sources

Was it not a Georgia A vs Argentina A that was scheduled and then cancelled?

Except that the Pumas and Argentina XV aren't the same team. Georgia was supposed to hang around South America an extra couple weeks and play Argentina XV and Uruguay but seems that is off now.
