Starting squad for the 1st test match named.

would have liked to see cyprian kuto at 11, Hillary Mwanjilwa at tight head, Daniel Sikuta at Flank, Max Kangeri and Jeff Oluoch at centre, Gabriel Adero at backrow, and Felix Ayange at 15. But all in all it's a fantastic squad that I expect to deliver a win.

Although the Simbas finished last in the Regal tournament, I must say they put up a good fight. Kudos to the boys and up and onwards. Now for RWC qualification next year.

They really improved in their defense. All we need next year is crushing of Uganda/Zimbabwe & hope for the Namibian game be in Nairobi.

Is the white Kenyan community involved in rugby at all? Any play locally?

Yes, they mostly participate in schools rugby with missionary schools like RVA which is a 95% missionary school. The only problem is that after high school, they fly back to their respective countries, and don't participate in Kenyan club rugby, which is sad, because the Kenyans are very welcoming of them, and they can testify to that effect. Although, last year and this year, there are 3 boys who made the U-20 Kenyan squad.

This is what the monkey Kenyan government does best, kill good things like sports and maintain bad things like corruption. Betting companies were to make sports professional in Kenya, but the govt upon realizing about the betting goodies, wanted a slice of the pie, so they hiked taxes to the betting and gaming industry from 7 to 50 % in one day, then reduced it to 35% after public outcry. This is after the companies pay 30% corporate tax plus the 35% which comes to a total of 65 totally killing sports at the end of the day.

Have Kenya been doing much to improve their forward packs? I know they should at least have some fast decent backs.

Only time will tell, but last I remember, our forward pack always played 2nd fiddle to Namibia in Africa, but could challenge any other country.

The Simbas xvs have just defeated Uganda at their hometown 34 -16. Congratulations to the boys as we now prepare to go to Japan 2019.
Also expect a rise in the rankings on Monday. #Elgoncup2018

I wonder what ever happened to this guy. Kenyan rugby player who played for the NFL NY Jets in 2016. Would add some size to their pack.

And there is the more well known Daniel Adongo too, but he had some bad legal troubles.

I never knew of matungulu, I only followed the progress of Daniel Adongo, until he was accused of domestic violence by a woman, then he disappeared from the news.

The typical NFL off-season story about a guy from another country making it.
He got cut at first chance in August 2016 to be never heard of again.
As he apparently came to the States for education and not sports, he probably simply started to work.

How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

I never even heard of him and I'm a jets fan. Shows how little he made an impact on the team, probably just a practice squad player that got cut pretty quickly, which is still a very impressive thing to do for someone who only played football for 5 years.

He did well to get an NFL look from a small school WCU.

Yes he did very well to make it to the NFL on the first place. Just saying he didn’t stay in the NFL very long otherwise I would’ve heard of him. 2016 was right around the time I was still really following player moves, enough to at least recognize the names of most depth players.

Kenya 7s has named their final 12 man squad to travel to Tunisia for the Africa cup 7s this weekend.
Most of the players on the team consist of rookies. All the best to the shujaa :)

The Kenya Lionesses have been invited for the Dubai leg on the womens 7s series.
This is due to their exemplary performance on the African continent and also defeating former Africa 7s defending champions South Africa.
