I do not understand what the tipping challenge is all about. Could someone kindly explain to me what it is and how it works? Thanks guys :)

You select what score you think each game will end with, and then, after the games happen, you are given points, based on how close your prediction was to the actual result. The person with the most points at the end of the calendar year is the king, god, emperor and princess of the tipping competition and gets a t-shirt prize. We have another Kenyan guy, "Trendsetta", playing. He came 2nd twice.

Fantastic, how can i join iul?

To be fair, Armchair Fan already has 31 points and last year champion had 238 points, so it's very unlikely you will be able to close the gap and win this thing, but you can still play for fun, and next year try to win the whole thing.

I really enjoy the game. Something I realized: I often miss more points by just one single point difference.

I reckon this happens to everybody, but were there any thoughts in the past about giving a point if you stay in a different range (lets say within 5)?
I mean if a game ends 21:10 and you had a 22:10 on your sheet you get the some amount of points as when somebody tipped 45:0.

Would maybe add a little more spice to the competition and reduce the sheer luck of a 5 pointer.
How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

I agree RugbyLiebe, giving additional points for a margin error of 5 and below would be good.

I agree, but I don't know how to do and the dude who created the plugin made it for football, where margins are small anyway, and he does this in his spare time, so, unfortunately, I don't know if we''ll have such a feature anytime soon.

Oh no, we do not have any programmers around who can write code for a fresh new app which is rugby specific? We need to create points for a margin of error of 5 and below, bonuses between teams and games which pass the half century mark.(50).

Thanks to the guys who created this forum. I can communicate to people in Vancouver, Brisbane, Bucharest, Tbilisi, Barcelona, Harare, Cape town and many other places just by the touch of a button in the comfort of my house in Nairobi. Plus most of the information here, can never be gotten on wikipedia. The people here are either current rugby players, former rugby players, match officials, coaches and managers who are directly involved on the ground.
Plus the tipping championship helps me to directly know who is playing who on the continent.
Thanks guys and i value all of you on this group. :)

N.B : Don't be mad if i didn't mention your city. I couldn't mention all the cities in the world, but i equally care about all of you. ;)

iul, I was thinking, in -order to make things spicy, some people can act as bookmakers before the tipping is done. Basically, people who can guide you on where to place your tip just like normal betting.

That already kind of happens, because you can see what other users have predicted. m.map has won the previous two years, you can see his predictions here: tipping/user/?user=56
I suppose you should do some research on the strength of the nations playing if you really want to win. If Honduras play against Bolivia I have no clue which on is supposed to be better. Maybe they're roughly the same, or maybe the difference between them is like the difference between England and Portugal.

well, I look for infos - when I'm not well aware about some match or national team - on several sites
http://les-archives-de-serge.over-blog.com/ is one of them
then http://www.worldrugby.org/ , http://www.rugbyeurope.eu/ , and so on
oh, and http://t2rugby.com/ , of course ;-)

and, yes Genoa is in Italy, and is my city. visit it, it's beautiful
(if someone will be in Genoa, call me before via PM of this forum)
