28 - 14 FT

Russia played well. The ref and ARs were excellent I thought.

I am sick to write this, but I just have to - Team of Russia earned the respect all around the world. Well, I have never heard Georgians applauding them before that.

I don't think so. It's a tactical selection, some players may have been rested in earlier weeks. They have picked a pack that hopes to scrummage well I'd say.

Do you recall Russia winning a scrum? I don't.

Overall a useful game for us

#14 Svanidze, age 20. a future fullback prospect.
#21 Aprasidze, age 19 coming through ranks. A goal kicker too.
#13 Koshadze playing well throughout the whole tournament.

disappointed with the absence of jinchvelashvili, especially when Khmaladze was dreadful. But I guess Haig wants him to get some practice before Romania.

Romania game will be veeery difficult. our #10 in horrible form after the injury, Sharikadze at 12 doubtful. that makes our forward/back connection even weaker.

Missed most of the first half but according to stats shown on the broadcast they were 3-0 on their own put-in at one point.

Three good tries from Georgia, two involving intelligent play from the backs. Russian performance the best I've seen from them in the past 12 months. Add in a big crowd and it was a good advert for the competition.

I would like to note a touching event.

Georgian fans highlight the target Kushnarev with a laser.
