Czechs well in control at half-time ahead 24-7. could even have been more but Czech winger inexplicably bombed a try going over the deadball line before grounding the ball. the Czech 10 then missed a pretty easy penalty shot. Even so, it will be a major surprise if they don't win from here.

Final score 48 - 14 to the Czechs who get promotion and continue in RWC qualification.

Happy with that. Seeing the Czechs had a crowd of around 8,000 for the Barbarisns game last year it is clear they have a lot to offer the sport in Europe if they can progress on the field.

I think the Czechs will be a fine addition to the Trophy next season. Historically this is the level they should be playing at and after a couple of years in the wilderness it is good to see them back. It will be a tough league - Portugal will be favourites again, but it is hard to call it for the rest of the teams. CH have been rapidly improving, NL also improving, but more steadily. Poland can play very well when the mood takes them, and they have been getting good crowds. Moldova I am not so sure about - a couple of years ago they were one of the favourites but they had one or two inexplicably bad away results. Now they seem to be in decline and I fear they may go the same way as Ukraine and Sweden unless they do something decisive. So, welcome Czechia, looking forward to it.

Congratulations for Czech players and coach T. Putra. I think that next season of Trophy will be very interesting, and Poland and Moldavia will be fight for survive. It will be very close-fought group. But on other side, sport is sometimes very unpredictable.
