Once again the level of refereeing in a Rugby Europe tournament is totally appalling. Georgian only try in quarterfinal game came after an extremely clear knock-on turned into a forward pass. I mean, it was clear. Not even a slight doubt about it.

Clermont final will be Russia v Ireland, so these two are really close to secure their World Cup ticket.

I'd prefer to see the top core nations (England, France, Wales) not take part in the Euro Grand Prix rather than sending such inexperienced teams, as it devalues the competition when other teams are sending their full national teams. They've already got the World Series, so they don't actually need to take part in these tournaments. That's England just finished 10th out of 12. Not a great performance. And 2 thrashings by Russia and France. France and Wales playing for 5th/6th.

Ireland wins Clermont 7s, 17-14 in the final against Russia. Spain 3rd, Germany 4th. I'd say it would take a disaster in Exeter to change RWC and Hong Kong ticket holders.

France played with the best team available. Vakatawa and Bouharoua have left the 7s and this french outfit will be the new WS team.

Also Wales had a couple of regulars only England sticked with mainly development players.

Yes, France played with their best players because they were at home. In previous tournaments outside of France, they haven't always picked their best players. I expect England will also pick a better team when they play at home in Exeter.

San Marino won 15-10 against Iceland - well done to them.

In the Grand Prix - England get what they deserve (again) for fielding a sub-standard team - 2 defeats in 2 games against Spain and Germany. I think they should show the tournament a bit more respect and field a better team. Their B team is not good enough for this level.

At this point, it will take a huge miracle to rob Germany of the Hong-Kong ticket. What use that'll be, I am not sure, though. Ireland looks very strong...

in the aftermath of the DRV meeting , the HK Quali looks like it will be the only nail which holds the whole DRV ship together in the next months to come

Ireland does look so strong and so are Japan, Uganda and Chile, Hongkong saying that a german team with (Fromm, Calitz, Biniak, Szczesny, Mathurin, just to name a few) is a very different beast to the one which secured a HK spot in europe.

There will be some adjustments made to the german 7s program and I'm confident we can keep on pushing for that world series spot. And don't forget it is 1:1 between Germany and Ireland in this years GPS.

I had a look on the DRV web page and they cover this meeting a little but the google translate made the meaning unclear. Can you tell us more about what is going on with German rugby? They seem to be on a roll with investment from Dr Wild and good performances from the senior, and U18, 7s and XV teams. All to play for, surely!

Congrats to Ireland and Russia. Portugal took us out of the fight for the World Cup. They did a great match, to be honest.
