Another game of two halves from Japan. Crap first half, much improved second.

For Ireland:

Quite impressed with Japan in this given they were really in the backs. Matsushima was a huge success at 13 (I thought he'd be too small/light). The young fullback did okay again and looks to be cementing his position there. They were also more physical in contact and this felt a much more competitive fixture than last week.

They still lost handsomely at home and Jamie Joseph will have his work cut out as a group against the likes of Ireland, Scotland, Romania & Tonga is one where Japan do not have a single guaranteed win.

The scoreline really flattered Ireland. Japan look like a side that need a run of games to get going and if they played next week they would be better. They gifted Ireland a lot of soft scores and were a bit naive and unlucky they didn't score some more tries themselves.
