Taça Tupi - 2nd division
Templários 38-07 Pé Vermelho
Guanabara 36-17 BH Rugby - Guanabara promoted to 2018 1st division

Now all the clubs have 5 matches. The final round of the groups phase is next weekend. Band Saracens, BH Rugby, Guanabara and Charrua are already promoted to 2018 top division. Remember: 8 clubs will be promoted! San Diego is almost there. Niterói, Templários and Pé Vermelho are close too, while Chapecó, Rio Rugby and Joaca still dream. The only club with no chances is former national powerhouse Rio Branco, that is in a really bad situation.

Well, here you are the big news: nobody had understood properly the rules of promotion. Turns out that all the clubs discovered last friday that according to the proposed 2018 regional model just 2 clubs from Group C and 2 from Group B would be promoted. And ALL the clubs from Group A will be promoted, what means that Rio Branco after losing 5 of its 6 matches will be in the first division next year. REALLY embarassing that all clubs realised now that it won't be the 8 best clubs those promoted. :D

So next year:
Group A: São José, Jacareí, BH Rugby and Guanabara
Group B: 4 clubs from São Paulo city
Group C: Curitiba, Pé Vermelho + 2 clubs from São Paulo city
Group D: Farrapos, Desterro, Charrua and San Diego
