Wiki has been changed recently to say that next year's top flight will be four teams with Morocco to play the runner up? Seems a bit crap to me given that surely they just won promotion?
The Rugby Afrique site seems to confirm that Morocco will be promoted so it is likely that the format will remain as is. http://www.rugbyafrique.com/rugby-africa-silver-cup/
"The Rugby Africa Silver Cup is getting ready in Casablanca, Morocco. While the teams of Morocco and Cote d’ivoire have been in training camp in the Kingdom for some time already, the teams of Madagascar and Botswana have joined them yesterday.
The challenge is serious this year since the winner of the competition will be promoted to the Rugby Africa Gold Cup for the 2018 season and will stand a chance to qualify for the Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan."
Then again, RA changes processes at will and without advance notice so I would not be surprised if they made this change and the unions are not aware about it. Right now, all teams in the Gold Cup are fighting to avoid finished in 6th place as they know that only number 6 is relegated while Morocco is celebrating their promotion.

With Rugby Afrique, your only safe if you top the Gold cup. Anything else can change anytime.

I'm really eager to see next year's gold cup hosting rights. If we play in Windhoek one more time then I'll conclude it's a deliberately biased rugby afrique.

I disagree, you are only safe if you are Namibia.
Re: 2017 Africa Gold Cup
I still can't understand why Kenya has just 7 points (and not 8). Maybe Africa Cup has a special points system with no bonuses in case of draw. Wrote to Rugby Afrique on facebook and twitter but no answers

Re: 2017 Africa Gold Cup
Unless they are using the French/super rugby bonus system of more than three more than the opponents?
Re: 2017 Africa Gold Cup
Rugby Afrique has a french inclination already in the name so it makes sense; you must be right.
They answered me on twitter: "a draw is 2 points, a victory with the bonus is 5 points"
Uhm, ok, it's not a so exhaustive explanation but ok
English wikipedia says Kenya has 8 pts
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Rugby_Africa_season
French wikipedia says 7 pts

To be honest, in all rugby competitions, a win is 4 points, win with bonus is five and draw with bonus is 3, because against Uganda, although we drew, we scored 4 tries, to make that a bonus draw. But anyway, Rugby Afrique has the final say. But, thanks for noting that Canalina.

http://ragahouse.com/news/item/zimbabwe ... ce-namibia Zimbabwe head down to Windhoek, It's going to be a tough one this one.
Meanwhile, all media outlets saying Kenya has 8 Points, while Rugby Afrique says it's 7. Are rugby pundits and media outlets wrong or is rugby afrique confused?

That was nonsense. They had their training session on Monday at Namilyango College. They are one of the traditional rugby schools in Uganda. The players offered "opposition" for the Tunisians and it was all in good fun. There was no proper rugby game that went on. I have no idea how that nonsensical article came about.

Tunisians complain about everything. They can complain why the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.

And Zimbabwe lead 17 - 26 in the second half...
Final score Uganda - Tunisia looks like 78 - 17
Disastrous sojourn in East Africa for the Tunisians
Kenya beat Senegal 45 - 25.

I jinxed Zimbabwe , Namibia now 31 - 26 ahead with abut 10 mins left.
That was the final score, seems Zimbabwe spoiled a good chance late in the game.

Re: 2017 Africa Gold Cup
The ref really want namibia win the game
Re: 2017 Africa Gold Cup
It would be nice to have a general official standing somewhere. Today the namibians scored 5 tries and the zimbabweans 3, so if they use the french system Namibia should have not conquered the bonus
Supposed standing (matches still to be played)
Namibia 14 (2)
Kenya 12 (2)
Uganda 11 (2)
Zimbabwe 6 (3)
Senegal 1 (1)
Tunisia 0 (2)

Yes, on paper it is a good result, but if you watched the game the Namibians were gifted the win and they know it. Zimbabwe's lack of experience at dealing with high pressure situations resulted in at least One gift of a try to Namibia and possibly 2 others and the nervousness in front of the try line from Zimbabwe where a cool head would have resulted in at least one try (the knock on at the end of the game in the in goal area at the end of the game in point).
There have been changes in Zimbabwe rugby since the debacle of the 80-6 loss to Namibia last year have had some effect. (National league set up, Trust set up for Sables, more games in preparation and the foreign element being involved to name a few).
Things are looking good for WC qualification though the game against Kenya and the away fixture in Kampala will be key indicators of improvement.
