Club Rugby

Postby RugInt » Sun, 25 Jun 2017, 03:33

I know there is another thread with same name buried in the past.

My local club side, Devonport Bulls, here in Tasmania, broke the club's record for the highest score and widest points difference. They defeated the other Local (well 45 minutes away) side Burnie 150-7 (23 tries). Previous best was in 2007, when we defeated Launceston (1 hour east) 129-0, also at home. For this game we were without a couple of top players and some reserves stepped up.

Tough times begin in the next stage (July) when the comp. goes statewide and we face the strong Hobart-based sides Easts, Tahroona, Harlequins and Glenorchy. Each game against a Hobart team is a 4 hour drive each way.

Devonport won it's first statewide final in 2014 the club's 50th anniv. season. We were defeated narrowly in the 2015 final and pooped in our own nest in 2016 being disqualified in a semi-final match for playing an illegible player! :x

Is there a world record for club rugby scores?

In Brazil we had a 222-00 once in the national championship!

Belguim had 300+ score line. The referee was over an hour late and the awayside felt the game should have been cancelled.
