Looking forward to this game. Should be a close and hard fought match.

Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

Not to optimistic about this game. Timisoara looks disorientated to say at least. They still have quality players but no game plan.TIM have some chance in games against Italians, especially vs Calvisano, while HRK looks very good against them.

I think that team should play in TOP14 to help Stade...they are in a difficult situation :).

Well the German based part of it. But yeah that's what makes me excited about it.

I'm also not optimistic, to say the least. I'll go watch the game anyway, though. If It's close I'll be happy, it basically is the 4th best romanian club team against Germany.

In the pool phase Heidelberg scored 15 tries and conceded 15.
Timisoara scored 18 tries and conceded 10.
All in all I still think the romanians are slightly favorite

I'd say is the current champion club (and a thirf of the national team) vs half the national team of Germany!

L.E. Actually the ghost national team of Germany!

"players competing in the Champions Cup, the Challenge Cup and the Continental Shield represent more than 30 nations"

When they have to claim something, suddenly Continental Shield becomes part of their world. In the other moments the tournament can stay in a little, hidden corner :)

So the HRK got a 30-time Tongan Super rugby prop (Siegfried Fisiihoi) from Stade Francais. Wise transfer for their probably weakest spot.

Squad for Timisoara:

Jörn Schröder, Antony Dickinson, Samy Füchsel, Mark Fairhurst, Timo Vollenkemper, Michael Poppmeier, Dasch Barber, Julio Rodriguez, Jacobus Otto, Luis Ball, Sebastian Ferreira, Jarrid Els, Sean Armstrong, Hagen Schulte, Raynor Parkinson, Steffen Liebig, Pierre Mathurin, Marcel Coetzee, Nikolai Klewinghaus, Ayron Schramm, Felix Lammers, Wynston Cameron Dow, Robert Hittel, Siegfried Fisi’ihoi, Felix Martel

Glad to see a wee bit of cooperation between Stade and HRK...

It also provides a clear perspective of how far HRK is to the rest of the Bundesliga teams!

Something it's not right, can't be Marian Sabau no 20, I'm guessing it is a mistake, James Doyle maybe... unless he's still on vacation in New Zealand, otherwise Ianus or Tatarus, can't be Sabau!

It should be Doyle but maybe is injured or still in NZ. Ianus is now in Uk playing for an amateur team and Tatarus is on loan to Dinamo. Neculau is with U20 national team So maybe really is a hooker replacement for a flanker.:)

Darn it, I forgot about Tatarus on loan, never knew about Ianus gone to UK. I would have thought that, with the flanker position being the least covered, the club would make an effort to strengthen the team, not the opposite.... Neither Rus or Morisson are capable to play 80 mins, given their age, so I think Michael Stewart will have a very challenging dispute with "ze germans".

I have tried to find aa "unofficial" link for viewers outside Romania, it doesn't work unless a VPN is used.
For brighter minds than mine, maybe this will help, I'm guessing it might help though I can't understand exactly what they're on about (somehow to play the channels using some plugin for VLC.... :?

No mistake, Sabau is there cover backrow injuries and players loaned on on national duty. Lazar can play flanker but he is there probably as a lock cover. I hope Timisoara will also pick 1-2 backrowers from actual U20 crop, Rus and Morrison are near the end of their careers. Really glad to see Seniloli out, I hope they realized he's not an actual halfback (maybe a winger who does not tackle).

According with FRR, Timisoara - Heidelberg will be live here:

Such a pity I have a very busy period, I'd have loved to travel to Heidelberg, I spent some lovely days there last summer.
