I think I have seen that Georgia have confirmed 2 teams that will compete but that is all I have seen so far.

I was hoping that now it is under the ERPC banner we would see better communication but I'm guessing it's going to be the usual very low key announcement a week before it starts

In Spain VRAC Quesos Entrepinares menaced to withdraw, but Continental Shield dates appeared on 2017/18 FER calendar so somebody should go. It would be ridiculous situation and a failure not to have a team competing here the year where we will be holding finals.

BTW, there are two options for Continental Shield final. Either San Mamés Berria like Champions and Challenge Cup or Fadura, Getxo home ground and 15 km away (30 minutes by Metro).

If the Valladoid teams don't fancy it might one of the Bilbao/Basque sides fancy it with the carrot of home advantage?

They don't have the level. It would be cool, but they would be destroyed.

Italy ponders whether to take part in 2017-18 Continental Shield with two regional sides, one involving players from clubs around Venice and the other from Lombardy:

Somebody in El Salvador forum just said all three Spanish top teams (VRAC, El Salvador and Alcobendas) declined to take part in next Continental Shield. Unconfirmed, but it doesn't look good.
