That's unacceptable for a Bavarian and for a non-bavarian German. That's like calling the USA Texas. Doesn't work like that.

Well that's probably because the didn't play in Bavaria but in Hessia's capital Wiesbaden.

Good game by the USA, Germany was chanceless after a good first half.
17:46 in the end.

I thought Bavaria is another name for Germany, the same way you can say Gas or fuel for a car.

No, Bavaria is a region of Germany

Thanks guys for the correction, we never get to learn about European history in school. Just mainly for African history and the World Wars

Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

So I was a bit surprised with how we performed based on our circumstances. Seems the interim staff kept with a similar style of play as Mitchell did. Which is good, not only did I dislike Tolkin as a coach, but the style of play was garbage.

Kilifi was relatively fit for a certain standard that is not international form. He was getting beat in the scrum but the German scrum wasn't able to capitalize on that. And now, if we can get what we got today next week we have a shot. Only reason our last match was close was our backs. And this backline is about as good as it's going to get for us.

It went about how I thought it would if we were to win, I just was concerned based on the limited workup.

How was the crowd? Just a curious question, how big is Rugby in Bavaria?

Didn't see the camera side, so not sure. Much better than what they had Vs. Brazil.

Highlights of the game crowd around 6,000 or 7,000 no way 4,000

Crowd was about 3500. Rugby in Hessia, were the game was, looks healthy. The wider area of Frankfurt has about 8 clubs and is growing. 1880 Frankfurt is the most successful and oldest club being founded in 1880 as a rugby club.

Rugby in Bavaria had two clubs in the 90ies and close to 30 now. The biggest clubs are München RFC (500), RC Unterföhring (Munich suburb, 200), StuSta München (180), Nürnberg Rugby (160).
The Munich area is growing the most with 7 clubs (2 of them just have youth rugby).

Thank you for the replies guys.

Great to see the USA back to winning ways, Germany is rapidly improving and I believe they have the right blend of "residency qualified" and homegrown players.

Kilifi has always been a poor scrummager.

;-) I actually had those "Schluchtenscheisser" (Valleyshitters) in, but decided to leave them out.
Also who is this girl, Franconia? Never heard of her. Some kind of reality star?

So Neptune, now you know everything about German geography you need to know.

Let's add that germans were known as saxons in some part of Europe, even if they didn't come from Sachsen.

The Welsh word for the English is actually Saeson as that's where they were originally from.

Local Germans were known as Saxons in Transylvania right up until modern times.
