Someone mentioned around 2000 in Houston. The weather looked rubbish which wouldn't have helped. Looked a fair crowd in Glendale easily 3000+

Are you talking about the Glendale game? Not sure I'd call what that was Rugby? It got very loose.

Houston looked close to 2, Glendale a bit less. Josh was at Glendale so we'll get numbers from him.

Just caught up with the GLE v AUS match. A few teething issues in terms of camera work from both games but hopefully that will be ironed out in the coming weeks. Shame about the weather in Houston, given the success of their early pre-season game you would have hoped for slightly bigger crowd, but it's only a temporary venue so hopefully things will pick up with their new ground is finished next year.

Concern with Glendale is that I suspect its the same crew that does all the Infinity Park stuff and it never changes.

SEA v SD providing the type of look MLR should be aiming for. Small stadium but great atmosphere.

Am I blind or there are no rugby lines in the field??? Pretty bizarre watching rugby with soccer lines...

But yeah, great atmosphere.

The lines are yellow, the sun is making it difficult to see. But yeah, the atmosphere is great. This need to be the example for the rest of the league. Hopefully the weather will be better next weekend.

Yeah it sounds like streaming issues for everyone. Alex Elkins apparently tackled three players at once though. Dude is a beast. Wish the US would have given him a shot at some point, he's getting older now.

Seattle are doing this right. Everything feels like a proper rugby atmosphere in that stadium. The Houston Stadium doesn't allow the same type of atmosphere to develop. Hopefully that changes next year when their own stadium is built. But the crowd looked far healthier this week. The rest of the MLR teams need to try and replicate what they are doing.

Some notable and encouraging tweets also:

"What the hell? Major League Rugby on @CBSSportsNet . New to me"

"Watching some Major League Rugby. I had no idea there was a Major League Rugby it's interesting"

"Watching Seattle major league rugby (‽ that's a thing??) and Seattle needs to discover colors beyond blue, neon green, and grey. Like, I like them, but for real, guys."

- "I have no idea what's happening and it's amazing. If American football were this much fun, I'd watch it."

Seattle really need to sort the lines on the pitch out. I've watched enough at shared facilities to know you cant totally scrub out other lines but they don't even seem to have tried.

Things are moving very quickly. Washington weren't even on the list of potential expansion teams beyond next year. So, we've got New York for certain next year as well as Dallas, with Ontario almost certain to join too. Washington will make it 11 in 2020. We've got potentially Vancouver also.
