The task goes from Herculean to impossible when the players can't even catch basic passes.

Canada was such a good team not long ago. It's sad when you think about how far they've fallen.

good they discover again the virtues of all phases of play and not just running wild from back three. I do believe players like Hassler are a danger for their team play.

HAHAHAHAHA What the hell was that? Let it go out.

Awful stuff from Heaton.

Congrats Uruguay, I will be cheering for you in your pool in the RWC.

Off to the repechage.

Have to hope Samoa beats Europe 2. Aside from that have to cheer for upsets.

We won't know who the other teams in that route will be for months. Samoa vs. Europe 2 is in June. The other two spots we won't know till August.

Well, that sums it up. Uruguay is simply a better team of the two. They have a game-plan and even though they make mistakes they stick to it and make things happen. Canadians look like they don't know what they want/should be doing.

I can't imagine the psychological conditions of the Canadian team for the rest of ARC. It may favor Brazil and Chile in the fight against the wooden spoon

How was there no conversion attempt? Winning the leg might have been some moral consolation.

I've said it before, but it bears repeating: Fire Tim Powers. He's been at the helm of Rugby Canada during this continual slide. We've changed the coaches twice in recent memory. We need to change the administration.

Congrats to Uruguay. One heck of a game between Lelos and Los Teros is coming up. Hope Canada does better in repechage.

So Canada declined the kick and potential win by declining? Why? Uruguay I don't think cared and this counts as a loss in the ARC now.

Awful stuff, the losing mentality is so deeply ingrained into the squad now.

Rugby Canada needs to be blown up as a whole. Terrible administration. Wasting money everywhere. Old guard that refuses to change. No emphasis on development, no strategy for developing pathways, no communications to the regions. And the regions don't get along or work together either. It's an absolute mess and the seeds of this loss were planted years ago. Depressing.

A complete lack of basic skills doesn't help either.

Congrats to Uruguay - they earned the win, stuck to their plan, fitter and better execution.

Only the first match counted for ARC

The score RC posted on Facebook seems to imply Canada didn't score at the death, so maybe the try was declined for some reason?

Yep that was my error. Makes the decision slightly less brain dead.

Oh OK, maybe there was some sort of decision we didn't see from the ref than Grande.

Anyways onto the repechage. Guess we have to pay attention to a ton of random games to see who will be facing.

I've watched it again, you can see just after the try is awarded a ball fly towards a kicker and the sound of a kick is heard. Then the camera pans out. Flags are down and a ball bobbles behind the posts. A quick drop kick conversion failed I assume?
