After Zimbabwe's dismal performance last year I am not surprised they were not included. Kenya I am not sure why they were not considered.
In other news Zambian club champions Red Arrows (The Zambian Air Force side) beat last years Zimbabwean club runners up, Harare Sports Club, 16-13 at HSCs home grounds in Harare.

The union opted out at the 11th hour. I wonder why, but it would have been very good preparation for the Simbas XVs
Re: General topic for African Rugby
Why Zambia is not developed in rugby like Zimbabwe? AFAIK the white British community was more or less big there, right?

Rugby is growing in Zambia and the way things are going they will take over Zimbabwe in a few years. After Zambian independence the majority of whites left taking the game with them.

When I saw this a few days ago, I thought it was a joke or some rumor... after seeing his quotes it looks like it may happen. I have no clue of what he may have at hand to pick from, but how good could Cameroon get with a quality coach (as Saint-André) and their first choice players?
I´m guessing most of them are playing in France but perhaps some others in South Africa?

We Europeans tend to underestimate the distances in Africa. Cameroon is actually 4000km away from SA. Toulon is 4300km away...
Are there actually playing any players from outside of the known rugby hotbeds Namibia and Zimbabwe playing in SA? How many Kenyan or Madagascar guys?
How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

Does any one know if the fixtures have been released for the Africa Bronze Cup? Wiki reckons it starts this weekend...

Well, I am not European...

As for the distances you mention, it´s true, maybe for a Cameroonian; Europe is as far as South Africa, but I recall there being a few Africans in various ranks of South African rugby teams (not that many in Super Rugby rosters though, Daniel Adongo being the only one I remember)
And actually before posting I have tried to find any actual cases but the only one I saw is Peter Kaaria (a Hooker, from Kenya) playing in the University of Western Cape. So I guess it may not be the case anymore

Re: General topic for African Rugby
I guess distance is not exactly the problem. It is probably cheaper and/or easier to go from Cameroon to France than to SA because Cameroon was a French colony (and there are thousands of Cameroonians living there).

Ah, I always thought you were German, because you had a German flag, if I remember right

Doesn't matter, by estimating distances in Africa like a true European would do, you are now by honour

Kind of seems like the same problem that next to none Eastern Europeans play in Romania's pro league.

I stand being corrected but, Uganda should be in the U-20 group B tournament by virtue of being loosing finalists last year.
