Lesotho Rugby Federation at pains to invite people to attend their event, every day for the last week - but now that the tournament has started, they still haven't published a simple match schedule...

Maybe they weren't sure which teams would actually show up. Only Lesotho results given so far, Lesotho beat Eswatini 31 - 0.

Tournament has started now though - so they should know the schedule...

Maybe only 3 teams turned up? Lesotho mentioned that they have now reached tomorrow's "finals" (final?)

I'd ask Rugby Afrique, but they blocked me on FB and Twitter for criticising them for poor/incorrect results provision in the past.

According to q post on the Ug Rugby Fanzone FB page:

Zambia 26 [2T 2C 4P] Uganda 35 [4T 3C 3P]

So it looks like World Rugby may have the score wrong (to add to the Niue v Nauru score they got wrong earlier). Not sure how much such details affect the World Ranking, but they should be getting the scores right - I would have thought they would need to get official match reports before they confirm the scores?

Not much luck getting info from the Lesotho tournament.

Yesterday,2 results mentioned:
Lesotho 21-5 Mozambique
Lesotho 31-0 Eswatini

"Lesotho qualified for the finals"

Responses today
Lesotho Rugby: "Today we are playing first and second semi-finals, and then final game is at 14:00hrs."
Mozambique Rugby: "Today we play Lesotho and Eswatini again".

So, Mozambique must have played Eswatini yesterday. It's either a double round robin with 3 teams, or there are 4 teams (you can't play 2 semi-finals with 3 teams). Disappointing that they can't just post a simple match schedule - surely there is one...

I tend to deduce they are just three teams (so Congo Brazzaville and Burundi would have withdrawn).
Today again Les-Moz, Esw-Moz, Les-Esw, then the cup final. The first three games are called "semifinals" because qualifying to the final.
This is at least what I more or less understand

If I'm not wrong it's not only the Mozambique debut but also the Eswatini debut with this new name

Well no updates at all today from Lesotho. A shame that the tournament has been a bit of a farce with more teams renouncing than taking part ( Gabon, Congo-Kinshasa and Rwanda? were also originally proposed to take part I believe). How you make a two day event of it with only three teams...

I don't understand why they bother having a Facebook account if they can't update it...

Surely there is ONE person there in Lesotho that can provide a 10 second Tweet/FB Post with a result from each match.

Maybe issues with internet connection?

DR Congo said they did not have enough money to travel.

I asked Mozambique, but they don't seem to know what is happening with their own team - they just copied the Tweets from the Lesotho account.
I asked Eswatini, but the same from them - they don't seem to have any updates on their own team.

Zambia seem to have been. surprisingly to me, competitive in the Victoria Cup. Despite all losses.

Yes, ranked 65th, more than 20 places below Uganda, Zambia certainly haven't disgraced themselves, their biggest loss so far being a 20-point defeat to Kenya, while the weekend's 9-point loss to Uganda's Cranes was their closest game. Perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised. They defeated Zimbabwe B last year and the Sables' A team the year before that. They also won last year's African Silver Cup South competition, edging Madagascar's Makis and thumping Botswana's Vultures along the way. But they were well beaten by North champions Algeria in the final, 31-0. Nonetheless, Zambia were promoted when expansion to eight teams was announced; a dubious move, to say the least, which ultimately saw the competition collapse following the withdrawal of its live streaming agency and primary sponsors.

Zambia also has a strong heritage in the sport, having played as Northern Rhodesia prior to independence, and hosting an All Blacks match (against a local selection) at Kitwe in 1960. Their players were also eligible for the Springboks, as well as the Rhodesian representative team, which played in South Africa's Currie Cup. Legendary Springbok prop Andy Macdonald (of lion-killing fame) finished his career playing in Northern Rhodesia, but opted out of the Boks due to excessive travel requirements. In more recent times Corne Krige played 39 games for the Boks around the turn of the century and also captained the side.

Zambian 7s back this week with a few international teams involved:

LUSAKA, Zambia, September 2, 2019/APO Group/ -- The 3rd edition of the Zambia International Sevens rugby tournament is back in Lusaka, Zambia. The hosts who have been defending the trophy since inception in 2016 will be hoping to continue their fine run at this year's event.

Coach Andrew Kaminsa who has been keenly watching the local 7s played so far (Muf 7s and Roan 7s) will definitely keep his options open as he edges closer to announce his final list in the next few days before kick off in the 2 days tournament t be played on 6th & 7th September, 2019.
The organizers have also invited 9 performing artists to grace the much anticipated After Party to be hosted at The Arena in the outskirts of Lusaka, Zambia
Some of the Teams expected to feature at the 2019 tournament include but not limited to
1. Zambia Nkwazi
2. Zambia Lechwe
3. Zimbabwe Cheeters
4. Namibia
5. Lesotho
6. Botswana
7. Malawi
8. Blue Bulls
9. JHB Bobbies
10. President's Select
11. Spartans Rugby
12. Sherminators

I don't get it. You mean it should be in the flag of Upper Vova?
