Viper ended as saying China is planning a 5-nations tournament at Under-23 level for teams Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Sri Lanka and China next year. “This will be an ideal opportunity to identify our players which will help our national 15s and 7s rugby as well. These lads on tour will be a great asset for this segment,” he ended.

Very good news the win of Portugal u20's. There were a lot of absences, like Portela, Storti, Alberto, Celso Mateus, Tomás Cabral, Domingos Cabral and António Rebelo (last 3 played yesterday against Vrac) but they still managed to win against Spain. Probably, Portugal still have the edge in the Iberian duel.

Hard to argue with that given this group has benefited from the most extended preparation of any U20, including two friendlies prior to this one, but I'd just like to note there were two big names missing for us today, Gonzalo López Bontempo (Brive Espoirs) and Mario Pichardie (Wasps Academy).

It looks like Romania is bidding to host 2022 U20 World Championship:

South American participation in the U18 Argentino:

Uruguay - First Division
March 7 - Buenos Aires (H)
March 14 - Rosario (A)
March 29 - Salta (N)
April 1 - Semifinal (N)
April 4 - Final (N)

Chile and Paraguay - Third Division
April 17 - Chile vs. Jujuy, Chile vs. San Luis, Paraguay vs. Santa Cruz and Paraguay vs. Alto Valle
April 19 - Semifinal and Final

The third division is played in 40 minute games. Chile should run away with the tournament but Alto Valle or Sur could give them a scare.

Also, Colombia U20 will host USA U20 on June 5 in Medellin. Nice get for the Tucanes. Sudamerica Rugby needs to include them in more youth competitions. They are not far from Paraguay and Brazil.

Sorry. Won't be playing any junior tournament in Argentina. And this will let us far and far from the top nations...

Maybe someone of you knows the dates of the JRWC 2020?
In Italy nothing appeared about, so far.
I'm pretty sure the participating federations already know the dates, I don't think the RFU (for example) designed their 2020 programs without knowing those dates.
I've seen on wikipedia that venue and exact dates of the JRWT 2020 are known since november.
About the JRWC we know just that it will be in northern Italy in june or july

Not so ironic considering that the hosting nation is Italy :P

Thank you.
Do you heard maybe something also about the venues or where Georgia will be based?

I believe you posted (few months ago) possible venues, likes of Verona, Padua, Reggio Emilia and one more small city near to Parma.
Anyway. it's your turn to find out what are venues and inform us.

I already got tickets Kutaisi-Bologna-Kutaisi. Once venues are fixed, I will take care about apartment booking.
I know at least 20-25 Georgian fans who plan to attend the world championship.

This is great, I can't imagine 20-25 italian fans flying to Georgia for an U20 World Championship. You are fans "warmer" than us.
Anyway, I'm sorry if I'm the origin of your little mistake but, according to the last few infos I have, the games should be in Lombardy and Veneto, id est a bit northern than Bologna. Surely not Reggio Emilia.
The likely hosting cities are Milan, Brescia, Calvisano, Viadana, Verona, Treviso, San Donà, Padova, Rovigo...
But no communications at all so far from the Federation

To be noted that they widened a bit the tournament, making also the pool games 5-days-far one from the other.
In the last editions there were four days between round 1 and round 2 and between round 2 and round 3, and five days between round 3 and the semifinals and between semifinals and finals.
Now there are five days between all the rounds

Today's afternoon test Italy v France U20 (kick off 15.00 CET) will be shown by www.facebook.com/NapoliRugby/, even if probably with a mono-camera.
The test is just a training one, but the scenario of the match, in Napoli, is not bad

Is it too rude if I remember that just few months ago thousands and thousands forum members assured that Scotland would have never played in the Trophy, because World Rugby -those old corrupt people!- was surely going to find an escamotage to keep them in the Championship?

I'd wait until seeing what happens if they don't manage to get promoted straight to Championship this year.

And if they don't win the tournament and World Rugby keep them in the Trophy you will wait until the year after? And so on and so on?

If they don't win the tournament and World Rugby keeps them in the Trophy without earning their place in a continental tournament we will not need to wait: it will be unfair. That's what I mean.

According to this article, appeared today, Viadana is bidding to be one of the venues of the JRWC. So, apparently, the hosting cities have not been decided yet.
The article purposes an hypothesis including Parma as main base and Viadana, Calvisano and Verona as other venues.
They would be almost the same cities which hosted the 2015 edition, just with Verona (the town of Romeo&Juliet) in place of Cremona (the town of Stradivari)
