So Uruguay needs to beat Brazil to be 3rd in pool and wait for Colombia's pool results, given Russia should beat Paraguay by a comfortable margin. A close defeat against Canada should be enough for Colombia to reach QF unless there is a draw between Argentina and USA.

But Uruguay beat Brazil comfortably, so their chances to reach Hong Kong are slim.

I’m happier about the victories, even with those I knew it’d be unlikely to happen anyway. It’d take a great performance from Colombia to have a shot.

COLOMBIA, the surprise of the tournament.Congratulations ¡¡¡¡¡

URUGUAY : excelent performance to defeat the team which looked as the best(South Africa). CHILE got its two goals : Las Vegas/Vancouver and Hong Kong.

DISAPPOINTMENT : Canada and USA.

My forecast : a final between a very well structured team, PORTUGAL, and a group of excellent individual players : ARGENTINA.

Russia defeated Germany and showed a good potential. Maybe Serevi will bring them to a higher level.

Thanks to the CONDORES for a magnificent weekend of Rugby 7. I wish the best for our team in the northamerican stops of the circuit and also to get the promotion to the world circuit in 2020.

It is possible to compete in the Panam games and also in the olimpic classification, let´s go for both ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

Chile played very well and I enjoyed the home crowd support. It was a smallish audience but had a really great looking festival atmosphere, fans very clearly happy to have the games there.

The stadium is not a real stadium, it is the pitch of a traditional british school(Mac kay school); seats are especially installed for this tournament .The Alumni association created the club 50 or 60 years ago which has been protagonist in chilean Rugby since then.
The school is located 6 blocks from the beach, so many people move to watch Rugby after they get a sea bath. PM assistance was full , during the morning there were places empty. There is, certainly, a sort of festival ambience which contributes to the success of the tournament.

Chile will have big chances to go to the HK final. The competition with Germany and Russia will interesting. The question is Ireland.

The Teros 7s have been inconsistent. Sometimes they are absentminded and lose. Sometiems they are alert and win convincingly. They need the latter full-time to get a better result at Hong Kong.

Brazil has been a big disappointment. After the Olympics, their sevens team has plummeted.

While the competition was ongoing in South America, Ireland came here and beat Spain quite convincingly. If they don't do anything stupid there shouldn't be a fight neither in Hong Kong nor in Olympic qualifiers. They are a step above the rest.

Did they send a weak team? Getting thumped by USA after Colombia beat them not encouraging.

Germany is definitly out of the competition and no longer a serious contender , For them one of the semifinals ist the most they can get. While countrys like Chile and Uganda are constantly improving , Germany stays on the spot . Still making the same mistakes and the same almost non existing attacking game like in the last 3 years . Despite saying the opposite , they lack depth. If more than 2 core players are out due to injury the team doesnt perform anymore and running around like headless chicken. So HK will be between Ireland , Chile and maybe Russia !

Brazil fielded a good squad with little preparation to the tournament.

Ireland defeated Chile 17-12 in San Francisco and got into the 16, that match was very tight .If Chile keeps working and improving before HK, I think we have possibilities to enter into the circuit.
