If they are so joking, why not write that the winners of the Challenge Cup are "frog eaters" from the city of Paris

In fact Krasnoyarsk was not the leader in the number of labor camps in the USSR.

And under Stalin prisoners were less than now in the US.

I said it was NOT a joke. Just random info about the city to introduce it to readers. As if a Kiwi journalist talking about Spain made a reference to bullfighting in spite of how many people here dislike it (including me). I can assure L'Équipe didn't intend to be insulting by making that reference.

Gargalic was a great signing for Enisei. He could play in any league.

Malaguradze had a rough day.

They drink champagne! This will help "Slava" on Wednesday! (I hope our players will not drink this weekend)

In Krasny Yar already looking for who is to blame. Some fans against Butor (Nikolaychuk), others against Seva (Tuamalolo). But none of them understand that the pink form is to blame

"Cette finale, d'un niveau de Fédérale 1...". I haven't seen the match but it seems a quite harsh judgement

According to my calculations Malaguradze is the best scorer of this Continental Shield with 67 points.
Prepelitse, Fukofuka (Kra), Benvenuti (Mog) and Rudoi (Eni) are the best try-scorers with 4 tries each one

This is mean that Top14 is a low quality league because i remember Brive losing against Enisey

They aren't mutually exclusive opinions to be fair.

Finals of the Continental Shield will be held also in Bilbao2018 and Newcastle2019, that is, the current formula will be valid for 2 more seasons. It is further possible in future that the best 2 teams of the Continental Shield will change the 2 worst teams of the Challenge Cup regardless of the country of origin. That is theoretically clubs Top-14, Premership and Pro12 can fly to the Shield :)

and that is how is should be, if the last two seasons are anything to go by Enisey will not be one of the bottom two teams, they deserve to qualify for the Challenge cup without having to have these play offs. They should be rewarded for their performances at the expense of English, Pro12 or French teams that don't take this competition seriously
