Congrats Bears. Didn't collapse in the second half this week.

Important conversion at the end. That losing bonus point could be decisive.

If I may borrow from Emir Kusturica - Romania: once there was a [rugby] country.

Don't agree with you.

I don't have anything against Romania being strong. Vice versa.
However if we take into account results, especially quality of u18 and u20 teams (i.e. youth), I do not see bright visible future for the Romanian rugby.

Very poor and naive performance by the Dutch so far.
Even worse than last week against Poland.
If they don't outscore Lithuania by three tries in the second half I think the Swiss are favourites to win this trophy.

Edit: Well, again in the final minute they get the bonuspoint.
FT 36 - 17

Assuming the swiss can manage to get a bonuspoint win in the Ukrain the Dutch now still need one point from next week's match in Switzerland.
So a bonuspoint loss will do.
Had they not got the bonuspoint today they would have had to win. I am not so confident in us doing that.

I want to see Aprasidze and Abjandadze at the start of second half. I cannot watch Begadze and Khmaladsze anymore. Its too much.

Minor curiosity: this will count as a game in neutral ground or as a game in Portugal's venue?

Georgia win 39-24 (or 41-24? I think they messed up something during penalty try). Maisashvili needs to step down as a coach after next weeks game. His incompetent selection almost cost Georgia a game. Malaghuradze will get his 100th cap next week and after that good bye. Begadze and Khmaladze need to say good bye as well. Enough is enough.

If Romania defeats Belgium and Belgium receives a bonus in defense, Belgium and Russia last place 8 points each.
. What are additional indicators?

Georgia wins the title with this result. Congrats, although perdictable.

Direct duel result, and Belgium won it. So Russia is quite in a risky situation

At the end of the season , if two teams have same number of points the best ranked will be:

• The Union having more number of match points in the games played between the tied Unions

• The Union having scored more tries in the games played between the tied Unions

• The Union having best difference between points for and points against in all pool games.

Portugal hats off - regardless the score.

Good lesson for Georgia. It is time to say goodbye to some veterans and to give a green light to young players.

Considering Spanish rugby has talked about everything this week except for the game, we will take the result (23-30) as a success.

But too many handling mistakes in the first half that prevented a larger score, little lessons taken from Belgian comeback against Russia, a defense way more permeable than last year... The only good news is an unexpected improved backs play, including a stellar game by Casteglioni (a guy very few like but Santos seems to trust even when he didn't play with his club) and a promising debut by Vinuesa.

We already read excited headlines about how Spain v Portugal next week will decide 2nd place, but given the bureaucratic mess we are in and the fact there isn't much to play for this year I'd rather see a development side fielded with Vinuesa as starting 10, even if we lose by 30. We absolutely need a Spanish-born and bred fly-half available at anytime and he looks like our safest bet in spite of his youth. Being in Cisneros unfortunately means he will be amateur, but guys like Munilla or Gimeno played there before trying their luck in France, so...

Are any of the clubs or players in Division de Honor fully professional?

Clubs, no. Players, there are some but most of them aren't Spanish.

Would you like to see a Spanish or Iberian professional league? Something like SLAR, with a small number of teams, or do you think Spain should continue with the semi pro Division de Honor?

A professional league will only exist based on current División de Honor. And clubs have their plans but they seem to be on stand-by waiting for a more favorable head at the top of national union.

What I like about the Division de Honor is each rugby city or region has 2 teams; Santander, Basque, Valladolid, Madrid, Barcelona. As the profile of the league grows these local rivalries will add a vibrancy to the character of the sport in Spain, which will be quite unique to Spain.
It would quite obvious to launch a professional Iberian league with 6 teams, 5 in these areas of Spain, and one in Portugal. But then these local rivalries will be lost. If it can grow organically into a professional league then it will have deeper routes and will all the better for it.
Look at Wales for a lesson in how to kill the soul of rugby.

Anyone else having difficulties watching the archived replays through the dailymotion site? All I seem to get for any match played at any level of this years competition, is the ‘live will start’ message.

They’ve now got a YouTube channel mind at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCu9Lbs ... TMiOSvJ5Gw
