Rarofra wrote:It's a pity but it had barely no promotion for this game. I think 95% or more of the publicity last weeks were to the Barbarians game. I got that the next game will be more important, but I felt a bit disappointed with it, since it was a world ranking game, Portugal is a good team that already made several friendly games against Brazil and it's not so easy to find good level (considering Brazil's level) test matches as this.

I dont think it would change much. If a rugby fan doesn't follow CBRu's social media and Portal do Rugby it is because he/she is not really interested. And the match was in both places anounced. It could have been much better if rugby people in São Paulo area were actually interested in the match. There isn't much excuse. Promotion woudn't bring non-rugby people for this match anyway.

Good first half, messy second. Brazil dominated through their big scrum and took a 21-12 lead into the break. The visitors looked a little sharper in the backs, however, and scored one superb try off a pinpoint cross-kick. The hosts appeared to tire in the second half as Portugal stormed back to within two points. With about 15 minutes to go Brazil declined an easy penalty kick and opted for a scrum instead, only to lose possession. Portugal struggled to get out of their own territory, but earned a penalty just inside the Brazilian half right on fulltime. It never looked like going over. Os Tupis survived for a 26-24 win. Conditions appeared ideal but there weren't many fans in the stands.

Portugal were the architects of their own demise in this game. Terrible discipline and too much emphasis on youth. We should be going into games with a view to win, not just make a point. This was disappointing from Portugal. Good for Brasil, I hope they win against the Barbarians to give themselves a chance fo future fixtures.

3 yellow cards... otherwise Portugal woud have won. Not an impressive match from Brazil, although there were some good moments.

Brazil-Portugal could become a regular fixture. I like it a lot (well... I'm half Portuguese...). It could have a Trophy in dispute. Someting like Taça Atlântica or ... Taça Cabral  ?

Brazil vs Portugal should be major rivalry, and promoted as such.
