The Athletic Stadium is the "minor brother" of San Carlos Soccer stadium where Chile received the Maori All Blacks last year. The smaller sadium was also used for rugby tests against Tonga (2010), Argentina XV (2014), Korea (2016) and USA (2017). The capacity is 2.000 people, the altitude is 1.230 mts over sea level which is high for chilean standards. Maximum Temperature is expected to be 31 ° celsius next saturday, it would be not lower than 22 ° during the match.

Portugal looked very sharp with its back line yesterday in Sao Paulo, although the pack could not resist the strength of the brazilian one. Storti and Antunes impressed with good tries in a fluent three quarters play. The lack of discipline (3 yellow cards ) was important in the match final result. I expect a much better performance against Chile because they will improve their obtention.
Chile defeated San Juan province in Argentina 35-5 yesterday. Due to the suspension of the provincial Championship (Torneo Argentino) the last couple of years, it is difficult to rank the San Juan team, they were in the second or third string level the last time the tournament was played; they defeated Pumitas short time ago on a practice match.

It is possible to appreciate Lemoine´s hand in the chilean team : they have not been a pushover in the forwards (normal situation in the ARC) the last 3 games. Backline looks much organised in defense as well.

I preview a match with intensive fight between the back lines, but the general rhytm will reflect the heavy weather conditions : Humidity of 20-22 % with no wind and high temperature.

In accordance to Periodismo-Rugby.cl Chile will have the following modifications respect last saturday :

Left wing : Julio Blanc enters for JI Larenas who shifts to right wing.
Fullback : L. Avelli shifts from RW to FB. Christian Huerta goes to the bench. The bench will be 6/2 (Rassie Erasmus example?)

ARN site informs the same changes in the chilean team plus the following in the portuguese one :
Flank : J. Granate for H. Alberto
N° 8 : M. Picao for V. Mendes
SH : D. Azevedo for J. Belo
RW : D. Antunes for T. Cabral.

For ARN, Portugal is favorite, based on previous results (3 to 0).

HT : Chile 8-Portugal 3.

Chile got advantages from a superior scrum (4 penalties) which could not transform in points due to handling errors and a weak line-out but in one ocassion with penalty-line-maul and try.
Portugal much better in the back line game.

The heath (32 ° C) is affecting the rhythm of the game. Result is open for the team which perform better under these conditions.

FT ; Chile 18 Portugal 23.

Portugal surprised with its backs and the improvement of the pack during the SH. Portuguse SH replacement scored a try after a maul and the final try one was and interception.

The chilean back line gave away the match with poor handling and lack of ideas, although the team got more rerritory and possesion. It is difficult to improve if the back line has so few to offer.

Since the arrival of Lemoine as HC, Chile has improved a lot in the forward play and the defensive approach. Nevertheless, the back line requires much more work in order to improve in several areas.
They lack ideas in attack, the only clear break was a kicking pass from the FH which generated the second try. If a chilean franchise can be formed for the League, I expect that the backs get their opportunities to play more competitive games and develop themselves.

Chile has to improve on the pitch but also in the broadcasting of the matches. Observations :

a.- Very few information concerning the portuguese team and the players.
b.- Almost no information about the 2019 record of the chilean team (matches, squad, changes in the starting XV, etc)
c.- Very poor comments concerning the strategy and game of each team during the match.
d.- No analysis of the reasons behind the final result.
e.- No criticism (positive and negative)to the perform of the local team.
f.- A poor interview to the chilean captain at the end of the match.

I know they are young and unexperienced journalist/commentator, but from this point they should improve a lot.
