How the Germans have fallen since beating Romania a couple of years ago and reaching the World Cup qualifying repechages.
Meanwhile, Spain lead Hong Kong 17-0 at HT, Swiss lead Poles 13-6 and Cyprus have edged Malta 18-16
Update: Poles came back to win 23-20
Spain won 29-7. HK appeared to have a try disallowed.

Germany lost by 30 points on their home soil? Amazing. What happened to the German rugby?
In the meantime: Switzerland 20 - Poland 23

German squad looks unfamiliar to me, were they without players from outside the Bundesliga?

On the RE website 23 points of Poland: 2 tries, 3 penalties, 2 convertions. In fact: 1 try and 6 penalties...

The thing that happend with German rugby and why the team looks so different, is that the union is broke. It was living beyond its means since it lost the Wild money. They recently asked for donations to keep things afloat. This team only used local Bundesliga players.

Yes, that is my understanding too. The problem is, from the Dutch point of view, that it doesn't help the Netherlands to measure up against REC opponents.

Extremely unfamiliar German team and a familiar Nederlands team. Impossible to get a clear vision of how good the Dutch are at the moment, or if they would survive in the league above. I fully expect them to win this division now but their play-off against Portugal / Belgium for a place in the top division will be exciting. Is there a date set for that fixture yet?
