Or we could do a Gazprom resort. Hear the Romanians highly recommend it.

The other one wasn't that bad when there was somebody at the grandstands. Didn't they have problems to accommodate a wave of students two or three years ago?

The venue is obviously better and more appealing but if I'm not mistaken Olympic city isn't close to city center, so a bigger obstacle to a decent crowd in Sochi.

This is an advertisement of how Western sanctions help economy develop ....
If this stadium is too good, then there is a budget option in Romania. 8-)

Of course, it was posted 2 days ago this news but one wise admin moved the discussion to the Winter Olympics thread in "Other Subject" part due to a burst of Russian anti-Western speech, conspiracy theories and all that

About 30 million bucks. One way or another only after 10 years it will be possible to see whether they have invested correctly or not.

That's a hell of a lot of money for a country like Russia with all due respect. I wonder where they will invest? Maybe regional academies, grassroots clubs, incentives for coaches and referees.

Development of childrens rugby, construction of rugby infrastructure, payment of foreign coaches .... We have a big country.

Main thing is that some scum would not transfer money to London ...

Although I have posted on a separate thread I am encouraged by the Russian led initiative for the new Challenge Cup. If there is expansion in the Pro14 league , I can see Russian clubs being one of the first to be invited to join.
I think the Russian teams have a lot to offer any cross border competition.

My opinion is that Russia does not need to enter anywhere. A competitive own league can be created in Russia.

For T2 countries a similar Challenge Cap tournament can be created.I tend to believe that we can implement our own rugby development project.

Strategic decisions are being made now and right setting of priorites is needed.
