Good move for him. How many of the Fiji 7's team are leaving after the Olympics?
Will they have a very much weakened team at next years World Series?

I suppose who cares if they win gold at Rio!

Thanks Warpath. I think the systems Ben Ryan has developed there will be no shortage of good young players coming through for years to come.

Interesting to see he went to Belvedere college, i wonder if he is Irish but of Ukrainian decent or like Artemyev just went to school there.

He played underage for Ireland, can't see him declaring for the Ukraine.

If your foreigner playing in Ireland your days are more or less number or there till your contract runs out. After it more likely won't be extended unless your a project player. There can only be a few non irish qualified players at each of the professional four clubs.

Now this is an absolutely bizarre signing but Irvine RFC (who are in the 5th tier of Scottish club rugby) have signed Nicky Little (former Fiji fly-half) as a player/coach.

News is a few weeks old but only just heard about it on a podcast.

Maybe not as surprising if Irvine signed him as a coach as I know of a few other teams with once high profile coaches but it's fantastic that he might actually play.

Also heard it mentioned Irvine are paying for him to commute all the way from London.

Irvine are in the same league as my old club Carrick, who have current scotland international Mark Bennett helping out as backs coach. My mate is still playing for the 2nds and says it is bizarre having a current scotland international bringing the kicking tee onto the pitch for you.

It seems to be getting quite common for ex internationals to take up coaching gigs at smaller clubs, one of the clubs local to me had Zak Fe'aunati (Samoan International and played Jonah Lomu in Invictus) as player coach after he left Bath.

Castres Olympique confirm Canadian winger Taylor Paris will join them for next season(2017-18). Apparently he's a JIFF so that must have played a big part in the move on top of his performances with Agen over the years.

Worcester Warriors confirm they have signed Canadian Fly-Half Connor Braid til the end of this season(2016-17). He will join them after Fridays game against Samoa. Worcester have suffered injuries to Fly-Halves Ryan Lamb and Tom Heathcote and have been playing some teenage kid so it's probably the best possible landing spot for him if he wants to get game time at a high level. Now if only we could get a pro Scrum-Half.
