ROAD TOWN, Tortola, VI - In a game not for the faint of heart, the local Rugby Union XV finally overcame a visiting team from St Thomas 34-22, in a friendly match on Saturday April 23, 2016 at the AO Shirley Recreation Ground.

According to an article by a Virgin Islands newspaper a four-teams-tournament with Dominican Republic, Curacao, T&Caicos and BVI is scheduled in Santo Domingo, capitol city of the Dominican Rep.
This saturday Curacao and T&Caicos match each other in Santo Domingo, but apparently there will be not a game between Dominican Rep and BVI

Anyway it would be not the debut for Dominican Republic, according to rugbyinternational they played and lost three matches between 2000 and 2007

BVI-USVI result also reported as 29-22 (not 34-22).

Not sure which one to believe...

Just reading what I can from the newspaper Virgin Islands (without darn subscribing!) the four nations tournament is in May. The BVI game was a warm up.

This saturday besides the WCQ match Bahamas-Mexico there will be the "friendly" game Usa South-Bermuda, in Atlanta.
Hard to say if it has to be considered a test match, after the leaving of Usa South from the NACRA/RAN championship.

Usa South site has the list of selected players, with an unusual additional note about participating girlfriends and wives

Apparently, the Curacao v TCI game was part of a three-way cup with the Dominican Republic.

According to this report, Dominican Republic beat Curacao 32-12, then TCI beat Curacao the following day 41-10.

It's possible that the Curacao team against DR were their second string team, given the one day turn around to their game against TCI, but still that is a good win for DR.

There's a dedicated thread for that little tournament, Rampage, down on the page

The Usa South v Bermuda game will be live streamed by "Purple Moose" website, this saturday

Some promo posters of the incoming weekend; the graphic level is increasing, I like mostly the netherlander affiche

And I notice they have Mexico v Turks & Caicos listed on the 9th July - can anyone confirm that fixture?

I suppose it's an U19 match. They are going to have a "RAN Super Week" with U19 and women's games.
They seem to follow the tradition of World Rugby's website, publishing fixtures without specifying if they are XV, 7s, senior, under, men, women... : )

Dominican Republic men's and women's national teams are going to compete in the next days in the cuban 7s national championship, but there are no further details about this event https://www.facebook.com/Fedorugbyorg-376577809023887/

It seems that rugby in Cuba is more developed that in Dominican Republic and in Haiti; unfortunately it still remains a quite mysterious thing with almost no info at all on the net

Maybe Cuba's rugby is not so developed, Dominican Rep national 7s team won the first four matches of its tour without conceding a try, against Santiago, Guantanamo, Las Tuna and Granma
Also the dominican women team defeated the cuban counterpart

So, if I'm understanding the World Cup qualification process correctly, the winner of this game will face the winner of CONSUR B.

The winner of that match will play Paraguay (who came last in CONSUR A this year). The winner of that match will participate in CONSUR A, and the winner of CONSUR A will be in a playoff against the loser of the Canada/USA playoff.

Looks like a pretty impressive attendance when behind the main camera is shown! 10-3 to Mexico with 30 seconds of the half remaining
