This article claims Moldova will have all their stars and lists Oleg Prepeliță, Dumitru Arhip, Andrei Mahu, Veaceslav Titică, Vadim Cobîlaș, Maxim Cobîlaș as possible starters.

Sale do not have a game so there is no excuse for absence of the Cobîlaș brothers.

I would have thought the "he has an injury" excuse would work even better on weekends the club doesn't play due to the player no running around on the pitch.

A sad loss today. Moldova was very close several times. Moldova however maintains the lead due to their bonus point. Moldova must with the latter of their games and getting as many bonus points as possible.
Any information on the coach? He used 5 props today, covering flanker and hooker positions. He also placed a lock (Victor Arhip) as a center, something which I think worked pretty well. I guess its due to their profesionalism that he is just putting them around.
At this level a pro/semi pro can do in all positions!

How was the Belgium side weakened? They were at full force IMO. Except for Berger. But he hasn't played very few games for the national team the last 2 years.

Robbed? :?:

Moldovan player ran straight into the ref. One minute later Moldova scored a try after two actions from the scrum. Get your facts straight.

Action is around min 17.

Arhip is doing well at the Ospreys. Is he the Moldovan playing for the highest profile foreign team?

The only newcommer in the Super Liga is Andrei Romanov from Krasny Yar (he signed for CSM Bucharest)
CSM Navodari in second division signed 8 moldovans (I don't know the names)

Last weekend, Orghianu and Golubenco were on the bench for Steaua
Victor Leon started for Dinamo, Cavcaliuc and Dorogan weren't on the teamsheet
Romanov played for CSM Bucharest second team in the romanian second division

Arhip is leaving Wales for France this year. Destination has not been confirmed but believed to be Montpellier and it's believed that there is a huge salary on offer for him - the Ospreys didn't want to let him go but couldn't compete. A real success story - arrived at the Ospreys as a speculative and cheap punt; a few years later one of the best tightheads in Europe. Supposedly he was really brought on by Wales prop legends Adam Jones and Duncan Jones.

Monster of a man. Normally a prop but I have seen him play back row for Moldova before since their depth up front is so good. At least it was when their stars were playing for them.

Just saw this news, he's a big dude.

When I looked up rugby in Moldova because of this news I learned that one of the official languages in Moldova is Romanian and that rugby is growing in popularity because of a shared culture/language/border. I'm curious, is there any shot of including a team in the Romanian SuperLiga? The capital and largest city is only 2.5 hours away from Iasi in Romania and the longest distance is about 12 hours by road to Timisoara. Hell, they've apparently got a killer rugby pub in Chisinau. Obviously I don't know anything about rugby in the region but looking at this through the lens of creating more local competition opportunities for Romania and Georgia.

Sure, Ukraine too. That would only help even further. I don't know the whole political climate of the region but having Romania, Georgia, Russia, Moldova and the Ukraine all together in a cluster would make sense to me.

It wouldn't make sense.
Romania is in the EU, Georgia in the Kaukasus, Russian's rugby hotbird is in Siberia, Moldova was part of Russia until 1991 and is basically a failed state (with a running conflict with a Stalinist regime in their former region Transnistria) and Ukraine is in a civil war with Russia now claiming parts of their pre-civil-war-country are Russian now. That's not a cluster that would make any sense. Too many difficulties arising.

Romania and Serbia would sound like a good plan, but Serbia is not yet in the EU and well they seem to prefer Rugby league. But overall it is nothing more than a phantasy and in that a flawed one.

Moldova and Romania maybe, but I think our Romanian posters can maybe bring some light to the situation today.

How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.
