Not the best thing, but I still think that the 3-hour-flight Paris-Bukarest (which is available from 84€) is still more doable than the flight to the US. Especially when part of his success will be decided if he can get the best Romanian players released from their French clubs for as many games as possible.
We will see.
How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

This is how the 30k stadium looks like now. They will have to pull out their finger to be done in one month :)

all significant stadiums from Bucharest where rugby can be played are under construction for Euro 2020. So it will be on Steaua rugby stadium during the day time...2000 places I think. :? I think traveling side didn't wanted to travel outside Bucharest?

Ghencea stadium is demolished, they are taking it to a rugby stadium in the Ghencea complex

I think Baia Mare stadium pitch is narrow, so World Rugby organized matches cannot be hosted there

Danie's great, love seeing him advance since he kind of got screwed here when Loffie fled back to RSA.

To my knowledge we tried. We asked to join with a regional side with players from all Superliga sides, like the Bucharest Wolves were. We probably were denied. No money for anything like that now...

I think cash is the main reason Georgia and Romania haven't been involved in the Pro14. If e.g Germany or perhaps Spain had a domestic setup like Romania or the strength in depth of Georgia, they would have been in already.

Figaro, Pro14 offered us a spot two years ago and we declined for the very same reasons. FER said there wasn't enough money to sustain the project. We're all in the same boat.

Yep Pro14 tried an expansion first in Europe contacting REC countries and after that they found Saffa solution. I think the door is still open for anybody is having the money.

I can imagine it would have been a pretty poor one from the perspective of the participating side, involving an inequitable distribution of TV funds, and/or participation fees. From the PoV of the teams already in the ProX, the whole point of expansion is to secure more money, so they'd want some kind of financial guarantee that meant they ended up with more cash than they do at present. Realistically, probably only RSA can offer that at the moment.

For many years the Italians (and now the South Africans) were a secondary partner in the Celtic League/Pro12/14 - they had to pay to take part. It's no coincidence that the Italians' performances have improved after becoming full partners, though that wasn't the only factor. I think the South Africans may have secured full partnership much faster, but that may well be contingent on them moving more teams over from Super Rugby. I definitely expect to see more South African teams in the near future and probably next year (though these might be the Pumas/Griquas rather than existing SR teams).

On an unrelated note, is the Timisoara Vs Dragons game.tomorrow being televised or streamed anywhere? Doesn't seem to be on sky. Ideally in Welsh or English...

I hate that. No wonder nobody takes the Challenge Cup seriously, ffs if half the games aren't even live streamed?

TVR (national television) tried to buy the right but apparently it was quite difficult (I presume the money) so they drop it. Couldn't find out yet exactly what was the issue
