The first semester features a Qualifying Tournament with 11 teams in a round robin:
Old Boys, Old Christians, Carrasco Polo, Cuervos, Cricket, Champagnat, Pucaru Stade Gallois, Trébol, Ceibos, Seminario and Lobos.

10 rounds? But after the Argentina's Nacional de Clubes?

The 2016 Qualifying Tournament had some bye weekends, so they played with the schedule to prevent clashes.

But the Nacional de Clubes has 6 matches, so it will be hard to solve clashes.

Even knowing this is Carrasco Polo´s 2nd team, losing to Ceibos seems very surprising.

Thanks, bro.
I asked a very respected Uruguayan journalist and he kind of confirmed what you heard, but also said there was still a chance in either May or June. Hope it happens. More quality competition is good for everybody.

But will Uruguay win another spot in Interior B? Today Uruguay has 4 clubs in the Argentina's championship. Will it be 5?

So, what does that mean? Does the URFU choose who will compete in next years competition dependent on results?

Yes. Next season Uruguay will have:

- 2 clubs in Nacional de Clubes B (2nd division)
- 1 club in Torneo del Interior A (3rd division)
- 2 clubs in Torneo del Interior B (4th division)

That number could jump to six if Old Christians wins the Nacional de Clubes B. They play the quarterfinals against La Plata RC in late May.

Yeah, depending on the standings of their local league. Same as European qualification in the Premiership or the Top 14.

So Old Christians would be eligible for promotion to Nacionales de Clubs A, right? That would be a big win for Uruguayan Rugby.
