Interior (Uruguay Country) has a website dedicated to its rugby: http://rugbyinterioruy.blogspot.com.br/ ... tes_1.html

I really wanna know if there is a clear path from Interior competitions to the main Uruguayan Championship.

No there isn't. I mean, they could apply, but they are probably well below standard.

The Interior Championship is split in three regions: North (Salto Rivera, Tacuarembó), Center (Soriano, Río Negro, Florida, Durazno) and South (San José, Canelones, Lavalleja).

Except for Trébol (Torneo del Interior B), the other Uruguayan clubs have been struggling at the Torneo Nacional and Torneo del Interior.

Trébol de Paysandú continues a brilliant season. But the 8-team playoffs will be another history

It seems the 2019 South American sevens circuit will be played again in Punta del Este (Jan 6 and 7) and Vina del Mar (Jan 12 and 13)
Again 12 teams, unclear who the non-South America Rugby guest will be. Apparently, they are in conversations with England
Winner will play as a guest the Las Vegas stop of the World Series (but not Vancouver as it was this year)
Winner and Runner-up will play the Hong Kong qualy.

(will also post in South America Rugby thread)

The fixture against the Blues is very odd. It's three days after a league game so it will be the 2nd XV / U23 side at best, but it's also only three days before the Uruguay/Ulster game so they won't be able to play their first XV for both games. All a bit pointless to be honest, though I suppose the more games against professionals the better.

It's probably aimed at recreating a World Cup schedule.

Uruguay and Fiji in a neutral venue in the same day Georgia, Russia and Romania have no matches is bizarre.

Fiji Russia and Uruguay Romania would have been much better.

That and also given the fact that Uruguay has been working on growing depth in their squad they probably want to see ALL their players playing different oppositions. I am assuming both Cardiff Blues and Ulster will probably not use their best teams available. Fiji might be able to get a solid team for the run out, but Romania might focus on re-building their team towards the RWC 2023, so all in all is a win-win for everybody.

These are all assumptions of course :D

It's during the league season so there's no way at all that either side will play their best players. Not sure when Wales and Ireland are playing their autumn games, but some players might not be available because of that either. It will be the u23s mainly I would guess. It will still be a stern test, but Uruguay should be competitive, especially against the Blues, who don't have much depth.

The Teros lost to Rosario 31-21.

Next week they will play the Dogos de Córdoba, and the following week they will play Brazil.

That's a bit low, no? You'd expect the national team to beat an Argentinian club by more.
