Re: Last countries without rugby
This is great Victorsra!
Maybe add some more asterisks though:
Maldives beach rugby: http://blog.maldivescomplete.com/2015/0 ... -manafaru/
Macedonia: someone apparently tried to create a rugby federation to seek membership of FIRA. There was a facebook page. Don't know what happened to the attempts though.
South Sudan: a promotional match did take place: http://www.voanews.com/a/south-sudan-rugby/1619297.html
Sudan: The Khartoum Nomads have a facebook page - desert rugby?
Maybe something further has happened in one or more of these countries??

Re: Last countries without rugby
I believe Kiribati also took part in the touch rugby tourny (both men's and womens) in the 2015 Pacific games, I believe also the Olympic Committee recognized rugby 7s as part of their Olympic program although I'm not aware of any organised national body.

Irak's newborn rugby association. Apparently there are still no teams, just some foreign-based player and the managers of the association
I tried to search also for Yemen rugby news, but the only items you may find on google refer to "Friends"; specifically the episode where Ross plays rugby and Chandler has to depart to Yemen... : )

Re: Last countries without rugby
Touch Rugby is a sport in it's own right.. You have the likes of Guernsey and Singapore ranked in the top 20 in the world. PNG is ranked 5 it shouldn't be part of this page same like RL is not under the WR umbrella despite they say otherwise WR doesn't have a ownership of the sport only governs a code.

World Rugby has its own Touch Rugby sanctioned form: http://laws.worldrugby.org/?domain=7&modified_form=1
It is different from the Touch of the Touch International Federation (FIT), that organizes the world championships and is close to RL: https://www.internationaltouch.org/
There are two different regulated Touch forms.

Re: Last countries without rugby
I
I respectfully disagree World Rugby may have decided to bring in the last few years it's own variation but is essentially the same sport, International Touch has always been the sanctioning body. World Rugby wants to muscle in. is not a different sport is the same. I stand by earlier comments.

Re: Last countries without rugby
A social touch rugby team has been set up in Timor-Leste called Dili Karau (meaning Dili Cows). So far as I know this is the only formal rugby that is played in the country, although there are a few expatriates who throw a ball around occasionally.
