So, in Spanish:

Zona Campeonato = 1st division = Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Tucumán, Rosario, Cuyo (Mendoza region) and Salta
Ascenso A = 2nd division = Santa Fe, Mar del Plata, Entre Ríos, Alto Valle (Neuquén region, in Patagonia), Nordeste (Concepción/Chaco) and Sur (Bahia Blanca region)
Ascenso B = 3rd division = Uruguay XV, Santiago del Estero, San Juan, Oeste (Buenos Aires' hinterland), Chubut (where Puerto Madryn, the "Welsh city" lies) and Lagos (Bariloche region)
Super 9 = 4th division = Zona 1 (Group 1): Andina (La Rioja and Catamarca), Misiones and Jujuy / Zona 2 (Group 2): Austral (Comodoro Rivadavia), San Luis and Santa Cruz / Zona 3 (Group 3): Tierra del Fuego, Formosa and Paraguay :D

I hope one day we have a Brazilian team in the competition, at least a development team.

In ( ) the province of the club /its regional league. Grupo 4: San Luis (URBA), Urú Curé (Córdoba), CRAI (Santa Fe/Litoral) e Los Tarcos (Tucumán/Noroeste)

Nacional de Clubes B

Grupo 1: CASI (URBA), Atlético del Rosario (URBA), Old Boys (Uruguay) e Universitário de Salta (Salta/Noroeste)

Grupo 2: Jockey Club de Villa Maria (Córdoba), Pucará (URBA), Old Christians (Uruguay) e Cardenales (Tucumán/Noroeste)

Quick question. Might come across as a little silly. But the clubs that compete in the URBA etc. are true clubs right? As in a kid could start their rugby at age 6 or so and play all the way up to the clubs 1st XV?

I ask as I'm thinking about writing an article about the structure of club rugby in Australia and how the Argentine model could be a useful example.

Absolutely. Clubs are by definition "non profit social entities" where people can play sports from child to adult. And rugby is an amateur sport in Argentina. It isn't business, and the players pays a membership fee for playing.

Dear Working Class Rugger:

URBA (Buenos Aires) has more than 85 clubs, which play in eight divisions: senior, intermedia, preintermedia, preintermedia B, M23, M19, M17, M16 and M15 divisions (not all 80 clubs I Guess).

URBA also has corporate rugby (32 teams) and university rugby (24 teams).

You may enjoy Desde Abajo Rugby, a website that focuses on the URBA lower division teams.

Uruguay XV has won its third match in a row and now they only need to win one of their two remaining games to win Ascenso B.

Thanks.

I am looking at talking about our elite clubs building similar structures as to the bottom up that are used in Argentina. At present these clubs really don't engage players outside of the elite pathways. There has been a great deal of angst recently among them and the ARU as they believe the ARU should provide them with funding to be semi-pro while the ARU believes they should be amateur and direct mpre money to grassroots initiatives.

It's something I'm in support of. But I am not adverse to the clubs being funded in order to develop a bottom up structure. I'll articulate more in the article and link it here.

Great, UAR updated its website and now it has better infos about the Campeonato Argentina, including updated tables http://uar.com.ar/category/mayores/

Today, Paraguay finished 7th in the Super 9 (4th division) beating Jujuy 29-00 and Santa Cruz 103-00. AFAIK these are 40 min matches (2 halves of 20 min). This means an outstanding victory against Santa Cruz (a Patagonian province).

He is retired for the moment. The risks of a sudden death were too much for him to continue playing.
