victorsra wrote:The problem is the title of Sudamérica Rugby's press release: "M20: Sudamericano em Minas". It looks it is the proper Junior South American Championship.

Uruguay has been calling it “U20 International Tournament”, so it is definitely not the official Sudamericano. Results from today in Montevideo:
- Argentina U19 29-8 Chile U20
- Uruguay U20 43-7 Brazil U19

Also, Argentina XV beat Toulon 45-24 in a preseason friendly. And Hindu beat Tala 20-10 to win its third consecutive Nacional de Clubes title.

The 2017 Bolivarian Games will be in November, in Santa Marta, Colombia, and it will have rugby sevens. The Bolivarian Games is the northern South America's Olympics that started in 1938 (it is NOT related to Hugo Chaves!!!) and unites Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Panama. I don't know who will play the rugby sevens tournament, but I hope Bolivia debuts! It would be a good preparation for the 2018 South American Games.

The sevens tournament (men's and women's) is scheduled to from Nov 9th to 12th.

South America C championship are confirmed to be played from august 27 to september 3
Costa Rica hosts Guatemala, Panama and Nicaragua.
So, no El Salvador this time but Nicaragua is going to debut in the tournament
According to http://en.espn.co.uk/statsguru/rugby/te ... ew=results Nicaragua already played two games in 2013

Nicaragua Games were against Panama and Honduras,

I honestly not sure why EL Salvador is not participating could be financial reasons they are preparing for the Central American games in Nicaragua in December.

A lot of restructuring going on in the region and changes happening. There are lots of Get Into Rugby programs for the last 2 years but I feel there needs to be a change at the club level and that is where quality and proper rugby is severely lacking.

The Region needs a push from SudAmerica Rugby otherwise we will be talking about the same issues next year.

The big news is finally the home and away system returned to the South American second division. It is crucial for any country to be able to organize home events because it is the best way to market the game. I understand Venezuela would host Peru if they could.

The usual map with the nations competing just for the title (in red), for the Mayor A (dark orange), Mayor B (light orange), Mayor C (yellow), and included in the RAN sphere (blue). In white the nations not playing XV this year

This is such great news!

I really think that if there was a South American U20 Championship in Brazil this year (according to the rotation of hosts), Brazil would be the favorite to beating both Chile and Uruguay.

Chile maybe

But Uruguay definitly would be favorites against Brazil even here. Our junior rugby is not in their level yet.

Interesting stuff from Venezula: four national team players will move to Montevideo, playing for the club P.S.G. and training regularly in the Uruguayan high performance facility. The president of the union said that they are looking to sign similar agreements with other countries. Don’t know if this is a sneaky way of exile but nevertheless kudos to them.
