There's a big chance of seeing Brazil-Argentina twice and both teams will be basically the HK7s squads...

Holy shit. Unbelievable.

Sudamérica Rugby has just confirmed that the Asunción tournament is indeed an official South American Championship.

But here it comes: Lima tournament in June and Montevideo tournament in november will be too.

BUT this is NOT a Series.

I asked them and they confirmed: 2019 will have 3 official champions! This means Brazil started 2019 with 14 titles and can end 2019 with 17.

I wonder of something is lost in translation? AN official championship, but not THE official championship?

They are wanting to put more tournaments on, and this was an example of that. But in the end only one tournament will - for example - count towards Olympic qualification, or Pan American Games qualification. Only one will send someone to the World Series qualifier? That will surely be THE championship?

That or maybe they will now have three championships each year. These regional unions do wierd things.

No. They told me next year will be a true series with 2 or 3 tournament but just 1 champion.

Only one will send someone to the World Series qualifier?

Lima is Olympics qualifier and Montevideo (Valentin Martinez) the HK7s qualifier (at least that's the info I received...)

Centrale Sevens started today in Paris featuring the national teams of South Africa, Tunisia, Ukraine and Georgia, while Brazilian club Guanabara (from Rio) is also playing (something unique for a Brazilian club):

It's quite surprising (to me) that in the 7s Series the percentage of women conversions is not far from the men's one

Women converted 451 of the 794 tries scored this year = 56 %
Men converted 1377 of the 2225 tries scored this year = 61 %

Considering the traditional women's difficulties in this athletic gesture I thought the difference was way larger. Evidently at least the top players improved considerably in this aspect

According to ScrumQueens, Tunisia refused to play with Israel

If it was confirmed, I couldn't express a clear opinion on that. It's a bad matter, very hard to say who is right in the israelo-palestinian question and if it's right to mix politics and sport

Australia v France, starting in twenty minutes, will be determinant for the Olympics qualifying. An australian victory would cut off France and launch Nze, Usa, Can and Aus to the Games. A french victory would let some good chances to the Bleus

So Kelter gets a deserved red, but then Cannett gets dropped on her head...no card for the Black Ferns? Black Ferns are just as dirty and get every call like they're the All Blacks. This is stupid as shit.

The live feed stopped after the quarter finals. Great way to promote women's rugby - cut people off from the semis, 3/4 playoff and final.
