Have you anything about 2000's games ?
I don't know. In general, I have results in most sports going back to 1st January 2000, so it is possible I might have something. I'll take a look this evening and report back here!
For 2003, the missing match (NZ Maori v Cook Islands) was not reported in the results report for that day in the NZ newspaper that I managed to find, but the other 2 matches on that day were. It seems almost certain that NZ Maori won the match.

Re: Small News
I am seriously surprised I cannot find any record of it even in the Rugby League Forums. Aside from the obscure website, as if it never occurred.
Re: Small News
Perfect. I had some schedule dates (all in november 2000) and locations, but no score except the last on Wikipedia.
Great Britain/Ireland 12-22 New Zealand (in Hull or Wakefield, on 7th)
New Zealand 10-6 Australia (in Hunslet, on 10th)
Great Britain/Ireland 14-10 Australia (in Rochdale , on 14th)
New Zealand 50-6 Australia (in Dewsbury, on 17th)
Great Britain/Ireland 4-0 Australia (in Castleford, on 20th, even if 21st could make sense)
Great Britain/Ireland 4-26 New Zealand (in Warrington or Orrell, on 24th)

Just to remark that australian star Caslick (freshly retired, if I'm not wrong) is in Laos to spread rugby between local girls and boys

Do you have a link about her retirement? I think she is still going. There was a rumour linking her with a move to rugby league but I think she decided against.
Re: Small News
Probably I was just wrong. I checked now on google and there are no mentions at all about her retirement.
Maybe the fact itself that she was in Laos suggested me (mistakenly) that she had no more agonistic commitments

Re: Small News
Off topic, not rugby, but someone says that rugby is a chess game in action. And in these two sports there's more or less the same number of "pieces": 15 in rugby, 16 in chess.
So, it's nice to see a 17 years old ugandan girl winning a chess World Title.
Her name is Gloria Nansubuga and she conquered the title in the past days in Batumi, Georgia

I like chess, but I'm quite a disaster as a player

A nice promo image by a czech club, like a superhero comics cover. Kobylky must mean "grasshopper", I suppose

My little sister likes chess and plays quite well but I'm a huge disaster as a player

I am very happy for Gloria - that is a major feat.

Re: Small News
On our italian forum we tried a parallel between chess line-up and rugby line-up
Pawns=Forwards. They are on the forward line, they are eight, they (almost) just know to go straight, they sacrifice themselves for the fellows on the back which at the end take all the glory : )
Queen=Flyhalf. As a queen, a flyhalf must have all the skills: kicking, passing, tackling, strategic view. An quite often the flayhalf feel himself a Queen of the game...
King=Scrumhalf. Because he is little, nimble (may go in every direction), on the side of the flyhalf/queen, in the middle of the game; and he has to be specially protected by the fellows
Towers=Centers. They are speedy, they are strong, they go straight.
Knights=Wingers. They are speedy and unpredictable, with their particular run angle.
Horses= ? . We weren't able to match horses with a rugby role. Someone said locks, someone said flankers

Re: Small News
Was looking for something else but found this from a few months ago, very interesting...
Meet Irtiqa Ayoub, the 23-year-old Kashmiri rugby player who is levelling the playing field
An English sport is empowering girls in the Kashmir Valley to chase their love for sports. No, it’s not cricket, but rugby.
Until a few years ago, this Kashmiri girl didn’t know a thing about rugby and had never even seen a rugby ball. But today, she claims she is the youngest Rugby Development Officer (RDO) in Jammu and Kashmir, has coached hundreds of school and college kids, and has dreams of playing for India one day.

With the last update (2018 december 31st) Czech Republic remained at the bottom of the ranking for 159 weeks in a row.
It's the only nation to have occupied that place since the creation of the ranking, three years ago

Questions not to be made ever to a woman rugby player... : )
- are you allowed to tackle?
- do you wear breast protectors?
- do you pull opponent's hair?
- do you use full-size balls in full-size fields? *
- are you all lesbians? *
https://www.facebook.com/BBCSport/video ... 744786581/
* I can't understand if they define "the most irritating one" the penultimate or the ultimate question

Although annoying, World Rugby Laws list the possibility of using it:
https://laws.worldrugby.org/?law=4
"In addition, women may wear:
Chest pads.
Cotton blend long tights, with single inside leg seam under their shorts and socks.
Headscarves, providing they do not cause a danger to the wearer or other players."
I guess the headscarves are those some muslim players use.
Are chest pads just bigger shoulder pads?
