With AFL and NRL moving to have women's leagues, it would be good to see it in Australia. Brisbane groups phase, Sydney playoffs.

USA is cool too, but not sure about the attendances.

Italy would be nice too, but it would be the 4th in a row in Europe.

In a word, no. World Rugby have never managed to nominate a host for the next World Cup until after the previous one - no idea why, other than the fact that they really need to ensure that the host would be competitive - and a ideally automatic qualifier.

Realistically I think we can forget Australia as there no real interest in women's XVs (which is in decline faced with sevens) or New Zealand who plead rampant poverty whenever the subject is raised (unless Dr Farah Palmer can find a cure).

I think, unless the tournament revisits a previous host, it does (as you suggest) come down to USA or Italy. Both will have good potential venues, but both will also have question marks over crowds, and also possibly TV coverage. However interesting outside bets for 2021, given their participation this time, might be Japan or Hong Kong - especially the latter.

I thought that Italy draws good crowds for the 6 Nations? Also half of the teams in the 2017 world cup are from Europe so it will be easy/cheap for supporters to travel to Italy.

I hope in an italian bid too. Veneto is our main rugby region and it's the land of Venezia (Venice), so it would be a good touristic venue. Veneto has many beaches on the sea (WRWC is usually in august/september) and some excellent art destinations like Padova (a rugby town) or, a bit more distant, Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet.
An other option could be Tuscany, even more enjoyable for tourists; Florence and the near Prato have a decent amount of rugby fans.
But as far as now I never heard about an interest by the italian federation on hosting the WRWC

Women's rugby sounds kinda sexy. :P . It's like watching women wrestle in a puddle of mud. Hehehe ;)

That is a very silly and insulting comment.

Im sorry, was just saying it on a light note. Don't be mad ugrugbychiclet.

Im extremely sorry.

Was searching about WRWC finals' spectators (1991 Wales 2.700 circa, 1994 Scotland 3.500 circa, 1998 the Netherlands 2.500, 2002 Spain 7.500, 2006 Canada ?, 2010 England 13.253, 2014 France 14.000 circa) and I came across this blog

http://womensrugbyhistory.blogspot.it

Unfortunately it ended at the beginning of 2011 but it's a precious source

PS: ok, just now I see that it was managed by a not-totally-unknown name :)

Very true, and certainly for games where Italy is playing.

The past three World Cups were played in Europe. I'd wish the next one to be played in Oceania or North America.

I agree, for Women's XV to evolve and get more countries playing the XV format needs to move. I would like to see HK or maybe USA

Wow! Just went to buy my tickets, and most of the games are already pretty close to sold out. Really surprised/pleased. They probably could've put the pool games in larger stadiums...

Again! After 2010 and 2014 grossly underestimating demand you'd think they'd get it right this time

FER has put in place a streaming service for Spain v Madrid, starting in 30 minutes:

In case somebody is curious about who plays for Madrid, there goes the list, including some international players from División de Honor Iberdrola:

According to http://www.ticketmaster.ie/promo/wu4x0j/
the tickets selling is going quite well, even if not amazingly
I've checked just few off the options: one of the two fields on day one is sold out and the final's Kingspan stadium (18,000 seats) is already more than an half sold

I gotta say, as a person that worries a lot, I'm worried about them mailing out the tickets in time. I hate that there was no print from home option on most of the tickets.

The updated count of warm-up matches, considering the incoming Wales-Spain, the double Hong Kong-Japan and the Usa game against a local All Stars Select before the Can-Am men's match

Canalina, Spain played two more games: a Spain XV-Wales XV without 7s players before W6N (0-39) and a game against a Madrid regional team including some División de Honor Iberdrola foreign stars in late March as you can see in messages above (53-7).

I hate to say it, but I kinda hope so... If both Canada & New Zealand are to make it to the semis, they're going to need a big point differential on someone, and it's probably gonna be them...
