Interesting take. I normally hate uneven groups, but in 7s, where you have a lot of time in between anyways, that could work.
How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

I like the new format, sincerely. The only problem is to change it in the middle of the season IMO.

Stellenbosch will host World Series qualifier tournament:

What a coincidence that all these qualifiers (2016 Olympics, probably 2020, this) end up hosted by Tier 1 men nations, eh?

Certainly just a coincidence
The real news is, that South Africa apparently lets their women play 7s to qualify for something again. Are they allowed to play in the Olympics?

NO! But I guess they changed their mind. It's a illogical flaw to not let them play for the Africa crown (too easy!!!11) and to prohibit to qualify for the event where they could actually qualify from... ^^
