There are seven italian players in Stade Rennais (or six; I don't know if Awa Coulibaly -now member of the club's board- is still playing). Definitively I cheer for this team

So Rennes v Lille is fast becoming Italy v Scotland...

Bayonne hired a couple of Spanish players too this Summer, Saioa Jaurena and Maitane Salinas. I believe their head coach Jean-Michel Gonzalez went to Dublin and talked to a few players more there.

Judging from the link Canalina posted in Men's Rugby forum, Rugby Europe has scaled back plans for IV Nations tournament, just morphing into its traditional European Championship. It's going to be held in Belgium for just ten days and a Trophy competition is to be confirmed: http://www.rugbyeurope.eu/sites/default ... 1017_0.pdf

Doesn't seem like a huge improvement, to be honest.

2017-18 Liga Iberdrola guide from FER. It includes most nationalities from players, with some exotic ones (three from Venezuela, but Romania, Poland, Hungary or Chile are represented as well). For Canalina, there are three Italians if I counted well:

The South African team is referring to itself as SA Select not South Africa. They will play 2 matches against the England Academy as well - on 18th and 22nd October. http://www.sarugby.co.za/article.aspx?c ... id=4149524

Brett Gosper (on Twitter):
World Rugby has approved the match Czech Republic v France Militaire (Women’s) October 21, 2017. Markets Stadium

What this means? I thought World Rugby may approve just full test matches. To say it better, I thought that World Rugby's approval meant: "ok, we award the status of full international test match to that game". But for a match against a military team what the World Rugby approval means?

Is that a sort of France Development or it is the real new face of french team? I see just few known surnames (N'Diaye, Menager, Forlani, Bouchard), if I'm not wrong most of those players was not at the World Cup

Without those preparing 7's world series, many new players will be seen during the both games and will try to take their place.
Only 8 (7 forwards) among 23 were in WRWC 2017 : Boujard, Deshayes, Duval, Férer, Forlani, Ménager, N'Diaye and Traoré.

According to http://www.sareferees.com/News/womens-r ... r/2830997/
the two spanish matches are not full test matches, at the opposite of Italy v France

Interesting - the article's opening paragraph seems to contradict the match list that follows. I guess we will have to see, but it would be no huge surprise - the reluctance of teams to award Spain full tests (in case they lose?) has been a bit of a feature in recent years

It's so disappointing that New Zealand won't be playing any games this November.

Bummer result for Spain. They used to be considerably above Scotland, but it's hard to keep a national team going when you don't have any regular tournaments to play in...

5-24 defeat. It's disappointing but not a total disaster, Spain uses to underperform when there's nothing big at stake. Scotland beat us well too in late 2014 IIRC and Wales won 0-39 last January.

I'm more concerned about 7s decline. If 7s doesn't work, then these players won't make the difference when it's most needed.
