One round of the italian championship has been moved from november 25 to december 2 to make room to a second possible test match (still not defined) for the national team.
https://www.federugby.it/index.php?opti ... Itemid=710

Canada has still not defined the third opponent of their european tour, on november 24
Sun, Nov 18 – vs England – Castle Park, Doncaster
Wed, Nov 21 – vs England ‘A’ – tbc
Sat, Nov 24 – vs tbc
Tue, Nov 27 – vs Scotland – Scotstoun Stadium, Glasgow
http://www.americasrugbynews.com/2018/0 ... mber-tour/

So, who knows?, we could have a test match Italy v Canada on that date

I just hope it's another test and not "England A" again (if that even gets confirmed).

Yes, looking better it's unlikely it will be Italy v Canada: the maple leafs are in Great Britain that week and I doubt they will come in Italy three days after a match in England and three days before a match in Scotland. Italy could travel over there, but also this seems not very probable

There are 2 International fixtures taking place this October in Finland.
Finland Men will host Denmark Men in the Rugby Europe Conference 2 North competition and Finland Women will host Switzerland Women in a hopefully to be confirmed Rugby Europe competition. Date for these 2 games is 13.10.2018 and the original plan was to host both games at Eerikkilä Urheiluopisto, however due to some niggles the games will now take place at Myllypuro Urheilupuisto.
More info will follow once confirmed - timings

German federation announces a Germany v Czechia match on october 28

It should be a new fixture according to SQ list
http://www.scrumqueens.com/fixtures-and ... ?year=2018

https://www.facebook.com/CzechWomensRugby/

PS: don't want to be rude with the czech fans but I think that "Czechia" is the most cacophonous country name in the World... :P
Maybe we just have to be used with it

Do you know if there's a french website listing all the rosters of the Top 16 french league? There are two excellent non-official websites about english Premiership (https://womenseliterugby.com) and spanish Liga Iberdrola (http://rugbyfemenino.com.es) with all the players, but I can't found a french one

An other autumn test match, I think to have understood

Netherlands v Sweden on october 13

http://www.rugby.se/Landslag/NyheterLan ... motHolland

In october there are Finland v Switzerland, Germany v Czechia, Netherlands v Sweden... almost a sort of Euro championship B, but everyone plays at his home. Maybe this is somehow better for the federations than having a proper XV championship, even if I would have thought that a single away test match was not so much cheaper than a week out for a tournament, if you are hosted in an hostel or in a structure owned by the hosting federation.
Probably single test matches are better for the players, which don't have to ask permission at work

The problem is even Rugby Europe Championship 'A' teams seem to prefer this, a single test match and that's it. Last season its format was already scaled down from the original plan of playing over three weeks with games home and away...

By the way, any rumor about who is hosting the tournament?

Current World ranking of the european teams involved in the october tests

Netherlands 14
Sweden 18
Germany 19
Switzerland 37
Finland 45
Czechia 53

Germany v Czech Rep seems definitively the most unbalanced one, but I suppose that women's ranking is less rigid than the men's one, at leas under the top 12 teams or so

it is not "rigid", it is stupid. Czechia started with 30 ranking points afaik and they will be dead last, no matter what will happen.

Disagree - "Czech Republic" is clumsy and unnecessary. We don't say "Italian Republic", so why Czech?

Slovakia
Czechia

Both end in the same sound "-kia" - nobody complained about Slovakia :-)

Also, in Italian - "Cecchia" - does that sound so bad? That is how "Czechia" is pronounced in English. You already have words like "vecchia" - that doesn't sound bad - all that has changed is the first sound.

I have to agree... plus...

1. People from the management team have written to me/SQ several times asking to be called "Czechia"
2. It's their country and I think they have a right to say when it should be called.
3. Its 7 letters shorter so a real boon for Twitter.

Plus... most news outlets accept that "Burma" is called "Myanmar", even though the name change was imposed by an illegal miltary regime. Ditto when Cambodia was run by the murderous Khmer Rouge regime everyone went along quite happily with it being called "Kampuchea". And I have no doubt that there are loads of other examples. But when a democratic European country politely asks that we call it a certain name we say "no - because it sounds odd".

Of course I don't want they change (again) their name. It just sounds cacophonous to me, but it's a thing of mine. Not a real problem, of course

Oh, in italian it's "Cechia" (sounds like 'cekia'), not "Cecchia"

The only difference between Cechia and Cecchia (or vecchia) is the length of the "K" sound in the middle. Apart from that, they are virtually identical. I was trying to work out which part of it you thought sounded strange. Because many words end in "chia" in Italian. And many words begin with "Ce".

Another country name ends in "chia" in Italian - Turchia.

I think you only think it sounds cacophonous because you are not used to it - when you hear it a few more times, you will think it sounds normal :D

It's probable... :)

Rugby Europe was able to restore a Women Trophy, with three teams. At least the first match, already known, will be shown live by Rugby Europe Tv

Euro Trophy first match, Finland's XV
(to note that in the page linked above the fixtures are labelled as "first leg", this suggests that there will be a return leg maybe in the season 2019/20)

Netherlands development beat Sweden development 46-0 last night. This afternoon the first teams played but the score isn't in yet.

Edit - you beat me to it. I got distracted.

I got this response from Sweden when I asked them the score:

"Det kommer i annat inlägg som rör damerna."

I think this means "It will come in another post about the ladies".

But it hasn't come.
