Expected victory, but what a shocking ref. If the ball goes back that's not a knock-on. Not for Italy at last play and not for Germany at one restart.

Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

I expected a close match Brazil-Zimbabwe, and once more we lost to them in 7s. 3 matches and 3 Zimbabwan victories, all close. Congrats, Cheetahs!

To me the difference between Uganda and Italy has just one name: P.Wokorach. I watched parts of the match (there was an other streamed game at the same hour, in the italian championship...) and my feeling has been that Wokorach is one step above all the team fellows and all the Azzurri

About Germany v Italy, just before that "unusual" last knock-on the referee was protagonist of an other weird episode: the clock on the screen was red, the germans asked if they can kick the ball in touche to end the game and the referee said yes, but then he made the game restarting with a touche by Italy. A language misunderstanding, probably, because indeed the final noise erupted one second after the german kick in touche.

A note also about the spectators: I haven't seen the situation in this very moment but there were around 35 people on the stands at the time of the first match, despite the good promotional effort by Chile Rugby and by the organizers in Vina del Mar

It's probably very hot right now in Viña. So early in the afternoon, people prefer to go to beach.

Genuine surprise how bad all Latin American sides have done with the exception of Chile, I was expecting better performance from Colombia.

Interesting to see how Uruguay goes against Tonga.

Uruguay was not bad... good result if we consider Japan the biggest favorite of the tournament.

True, but it is the biggest tournament in the region and I was hoping for more.

The Teros made too many mistakes and no smart actions.

First ever defeat against Mexico. We did it to be able to face Uruguay. You know, rivalry :P

African rugby is so raw, in that they produce exceptional athletes and rugby players, but little structure. With the right coaching Uganda could be really good.

It's surprising how much Portugal (& Russia by not qualifying) have regressed. Japan, HK, Germany look to be the three best. Fingers crossed that Germany replaces Wales. That'd be a great step forward.

I haven't watched a lot of this but from what I have seen Japan, Hong Kong and Germany are a class above the other teams.
