Yes, it seems Pringle was fired so Romania U20 will be lead by de Villiers along with some Romanian coaches as assistants for U20 World Trophy.

Yes it is, Arcul de triumf National Stadium. I put the full name because in Bucharest there is also The National Arena which is a much bigger stadium for football.

From the signings one would guess that they play in the Challenge Cup and not Timisoara. Schulte is imho the best German national player (maybe along with Jaco Otto).

Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

In the summer of 2017, the mayor of Buzău announced that Buzău Municipality has obtained the right to use Gloria Buzău brand for all the sports teams which evolves under the organization of the Municipal Sports Club (SCM). He also announced that Buzău Municipality has become officially FC Buzău's main owner and assigning Gloria's brand to it, FC Buzău became SCM Gloria Buzău thus marking the return to life of the most prestigious football club in Buzău County

Stejarul Buzau rugby club was merged in the new multi sport club SCM Gloria Buzau along with other separate sports clubs. This Harry Dumitras' old's club which was named before 1989 Contactoare same as the local industrial factory that supported the club. The new municipality club have sections of football, boxing, atlethism, gymnastics, handball, modelism, rugby, chess, ping pong and volleyball.

Here is their website: http://scmgloriabuzau.ro/

About rugby here's a translation of what they are saying on their website: http://scmgloriabuzau.ro/baze-sportive/

"Rugby" section - "Prince Ghica" Stadium, Buzău
Address: Tineretului Park, Buzău
Capacity: 300 seats (all seating)
The Tineretului Park Stadium was built in the late 70s, initially dedicated to the football local amateur teams. It has been used in turn by all the teams in Buzau, both as a main arena and as a training ground. Subsequently, the base came into possession of the local Contactoare company, which owned the rugby club of the same name. The best results of Contactoare Buzau were obtained in the middle of the 80's. The sports park benefits from a mini-hotel, offices and conference room, all of them being built in 2014-2017. Starting in 2012, the stadium is named Prince Bani Ghica, a huge supporter of oval ball sport and a supporter of Contactoare.

The main football stadium can be used for rugby matches and Oaks played there in REC 2018 vs Belgium.

The name of the stadium come from Serban "Bani" Ghica, from the princely Ghica family who worked after was released from communist prisons in Buzau as engineer and founded the rugby club from Buzau.

I did not used to have much sympathy for the local administration but I reckon what they said they do they delivered in last years regarding sports in Buzau.

About transfers we are compiling a list on our forums and we will post it when it will be complete.

The Romanian sports structure is one of a kind. Basically communism revived with capitalist pro sport structures. I don't know if any EU country has the same systems with municipally owned sport clubs. How did it come to that?

Except for the first football league no other league is financially viable but supporting sport is a good way to get votes so it's not hard to see why the mayors and prefects do it.

Italy (Academy) U20 v Romania U20 47-5, today afternoon in Parma.
Seven tries to one. I was there, even if I was able to watch just the first two sections of the match (composed by four parts of 20 minutes each).
Romanians seemed a bit taller and stronger but also much more messy in the passes and in the handling. I've seen just three of the seven italian try: two quite spectacular by handling skills and a penalty try. Of course I was able to record just this last try

A little gallery (photos made with the smartphone) https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 8031780324

And the video of the italian penalty try (but it's hard to understand something) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnWEtKq65EY

U20 Romania:

Vlad Visan (lock, Baia Mare) -> out injured in bronze final of King's Cup, replaced by U18 lock Negoescu
Ioana (wing, RC Grivita) -> possible injured...medical test still expected

So it's more of a selection of U20 and U18.

King's Cup final:

CSM Bucuresti 34 - 23 CSA Steaua

LE Highlights: https://www.facebook.com/rugbyromania/v ... 234918377/

Bronze final:

Stiinta Baia Mare 30 - 29 Timisoara Saracens

Traditionally i am pessimistic about our U20 teams because of our internal nonexistent competition. But this time we are in deep shit.

So Ballok (SH, capt), Visan (lk), Ioana (wg), Gealapu (fk, ex. Burgoin), Vulturar (wg/fk) Lucan (hk) so far. Also few others were injured or not available for various reasons such as school exams (Suciu, Tudose, Chiriac). At least the guys from U18 will get some good experience.

What were the three teams that participated in the last season of the national U20 championship? I know Timisoara did but I can't remember the other two and it's not on the SL site either.

Namibia margin is not encouraging yet when one realize that most of the players on field were in fact born 1999/2000 I can see in a different light de Villiers' statement that he tried to prepare the next generation as well considering this year is one of the weakest. And it was visible that lack of a sufficient matches in our internal competition is one of the biggest handicaps, some ties were very easy and physical preparation is not good enough; at positives I'd add the way we scored, after attack phases that involved the entire team; they collapsed after an easy Namibian try around 70th following an interception.

If we add to this team some forwards from abroad, from Wasps, Niort or Aurillac next year I think Romania U20 can challenge RE Championship gold. Last but not least we need a reliable kicker, we missed too much from kicking tee.

From 1998 generation Hartig (prop), Necula (flanker) and Iliuta (wing) already played senior matches and have pro contracts while others like Pasalan or some of the injured guys are gaining their places with the pro clubs.

Namibia had few individual players that made the difference, especially 10 and 15 and the props and locks looked impressively big, with all that Baby Oaks were not dominated in forward play or setpiece.
