It's so frustrating to watch us play. Not because we aren't at a high level yet, but because every year we see the same critical mistakes: poor discipline, lazyness off the ball and, the cherry on the top, our lineout. The ball is too slow on the throw-in, the jumpers aren't explosive enough and the lifters seem to forget their first job is to lift.

Every year, man.

On a positive note, our scrumhalf has a very good pass of the ruck (too bad we always kick possession away)

I would like the teams to make an agreement. Stop the kicking. Just agree no kicking in this half. Lack of dynamism from Portugal. Thank god Portela isnt playing.

That's kind of standard at this level, we are used to it :)

Sancery needs to chill the fuck out though, you are not going to get the ref on your side by screaming at him.

Portugal's kicks (not all of them though) made more sense as they were either inside their 22 or just outside. Brazil had some good ones but also some that were just bizarre: at a point we caught a kick near our 10m, with 4 players (including the number 8) hanging back, and yet kicked the ball right back. Why do you have 4 players waiting for a kick, including a forward, if you don't dare to counterattack?

I don't care about the loss but it upsets me a lot to see us losing due to mistakes I have seen for the past 5 years.

Congratulations to Portugal, you took what was available and won.

I missed the second half unfortunately as that seems to be where the game opened up again. How did Portugal look? I was disappointed by their first half but there’s clearly a lot of talent in the team.

And also on a side note, Portugal are up to 20th in the world rankings now, above Russia. This is a good young team with a lot of potential in my opinion.

Portugal looks very good. a lot of young talent coming through, they capitalise from Brazil's mistakes. who were poor at times and couldn't seem to defend properly.

I was impressed with Brazil’s forwards work rate and physicality over the two matches. I liked with what I saw with Portugal, their backs were far and away better than their opposition. Honestly I really think Portugal has a chance of qualifying for RWC 2023, but we shall see. The only thing that kind of bugged me was the forwards got pushed around a lot and looked thin IMO, really need to get those boys in the weight room.

Well, Brazil is a fit team, but lacks structure with the ball in hands. Decision making is a real problem in our rugby. And our kicking game ironicaly also sucks.

Plus, all teams that face us can trust they'll score a try with a maul. Seriously, every match...

At least it looks like Brazil conceded less penalties than in Uruguay.

Which ever be SAR 1 venue on June, Brazil and Chile should go through it. SAR 2 will be much more competitive. If it is played in Montevideo with public, it will be an almost impossible target for both teams. I hope SUDAMERICARUGBY chooses a neutral venue.

I'm realy believing they'll choose Uruguay saying "oh, best ranked team has the advantage". Which is exactly the mentality that makes rugby what it is, imovable. Btw, the same idea could be used to benefit Brazil over Chile in the 1st phase.

But I realy want to be wrong. Both tournaments should be in Argentina. Let's hope they do it in a fair way.

I wouldn´t mind if SAR 1 takes place in Medellín or Asuncion, but it wouldn´t be consistent with SAR 2 in Montevideo (which is probably the plan). Can the brazilean and chilean Unions push for SAR 2 in Argentina? They should move ASAP.

It phase 1 in June, phase 2 in July. Take everybody to Argentina and stay in the bubble, easier. I vote for Ushuaia, awesome bubble. And level hard, winter.

Do they have infected people there? It´s too cold for the virus. Cordoba, Rosario, Tucuman, Mendoza, Santa Fe and some others would organise a wonderful tournament. Unfortunately, NEUTRALITY and FAIRNESS are values not much appreciated by WR.
