To note that the news about the beginning of the russian championship was released also by Asia Rugby, this could be a sign that they feel Russia somehow as part of them

By the way in an American prison blacks do not perceive Russians as whites. Butina recently returned from US.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maria_Butina

In her prison black (75% prisoners) said that she was not white but Russian.
Asians do not call us Europeans either. Yes its true.

Is there a particular reason why there are so many southafricans?
I mean, maybe there's a deal between the two federations? Or the south-african players just feel good in Russia?

I think because in SA made apartheid for whites.
Each team must have in its composition black players.

In addition SAfricans probably like countries with a warm climate such as Russia ... :D

South Africa is producing many players, but its domestic scene don't pay a lot. So many guys are going abroad. You could find some guys in federale 2 or 3. Now Russian championship is pro, and if salaries are quite ok and payed in time, why not going there ? You see plenty of them everywhere there are salaries, and even where there are not...

Thanks for the answers; the particular thing was not just the presence of several south-africans but also the fact that (as far as I've checked) there were no other foreign players in yesterday's match. Just (and several) south-africans; no newzealanders, no pacific islanders, no argentinians... It was that that surprised me a bit

Do not forget that the situation for whites in South Africa is becoming more complicated. This is also an important reason.

Georgians also play a lot. Bogatyri and Bulava seem to have no foreigners at all. Except for a few players from Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
Even in Metallurg Novokuznetsk second year plays one SA...

There are many foreigners in Bulava. 6 Georgians, 3 players from Kazakhstan. They also signed 2 players from South Africa, but so far they cannot come to Russia.

Historical event! Lokomotiv player Penza Rudi van Royen and his wife Annete was born a daughter! In Penza!

https://www.rugbylokomotiv.ru/2020/06/2 ... al-otczom/

When he came to Russia last year, he surprised me very much by saying that he likes Penza. He said
in Penza can absolutely safely go to a cafe at 9 in evning and just walk along street!
:!:

He spent winter in Russia and said that he liked snow. He had never seen him before.

How do teams travel within Russia for national league games? Plane, train or bus?
