Long may this unstructured game plan continue. A thing of beauty to see every player irrelevant of position back themselves to attack and score. guys, im spanish, im a rugby player and i can say that here we dont have a rugby culture, so players meet rugby very late, at age of 25 more or less, we dont have a full proffessional league, and we only put real money on football, so dont say rugby here is a shit, just think that rugby here is growing, little by little. :)

Where is the Autumn Nations Cup being broadcast in Spain? The broadcasters list says ‘Telefonica’, but I don’t think that is a channel...

División de Honor 2020-21 - Round 2 - Results and Standings
UE Santboiana 22 - 21 SilverStorm El Salvador (a last-minute Catalan try denies Baby Chami what would have been a big triumph)
Complutense Cisneros 18 - 12 Ciencias Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Ciencias is yet to fulfil preseason promises)

Best news is that we've been able to play all games from first two rounds. Even counting with División de Honor B, 47 out of 48 games have been played within 'the window' (two weekends plus another two to catch up games postponed due to COVID and late promotions/relegations). Now we've got ahead of us two further rounds and a single spare weekend, so fingers crossed, but it's way better than I'd have expected seeing our COVID situation and the impact suffered by similar Tier 2 domestic competitions.

Good stats by Juan Couselo, Sant Boi prevented El Salvador's 500th victory in División de Honor and it may have to wait a bit since there will be a Valladolid derby this week:

Martín Alonso made his first Top 14 start with La Rochelle tonight and it's hard to say it softly but... it was a complete mess. Two missed tackles leading to two Stade Français tries, replaced at the 27th minute, called out by Canal+ commentators and criticised by La Rochelle fans. The other wing was also a disaster, but a yellow card decided who the scapegoat had to be. I really hope he's got the mental strength to recover from this, because it's a real shame when he was starting to enter match sheets.

Navy blue and white for Sevens national teams, they won't wear red shirts as they will use different kits and logo for the first time:

That’s a shame. The other kits are pure class. These are nice as alternate kits but I always thought Spain had one of the most professional looking Tier 2 kits.

There have been many complaints about dropping red shirts (some just see an anti-Spanish conspiracy to hide our flag and blah, blah, blah), but I really like these ones. I never thought I'd buy a Sevens shirt and I find both lovely, way better than our yellow XV alternate.

Armchair Fan wrote:No, just adapting to new season as always:
- They were just opened doors of their new home turf, where they had not trained until last week
- No preseason games due to COVID restrictions
- The increase in the number of "JIFF" players required at any time on field hits hard a team and a region with a still small base. They've been fielding as wingers players who had been forwards last few seasons only because they are Spanish and they need them on field

On the financial side of things nothing has been said, they are probably struggling just as much as anybody else.

You may have been right, Victor. Aldro Energía has been dropped as Independiente's title sponsor, results are bad and I think some things are going on in Santander, as for example Independiente is about to lose their perennial leadership in the regional union. It looks like some of the amateur clubs were fed up with how 'pros' were dealing with thigs.

División de Honor 2020-21 - Round 3 - Results and Standings
Lexus Alcobendas 56 - 6 Les Abelles (end of the fairytale start for Les Abelles and Alcobendas looks great, adding some Spanish youngsters from France and England)
SilverStorm El Salvador 13 - 20 VRAC Quesos Entrepinares (more entertaining than usual but with some awful defense...)
Ampo Ordizia 41 - 25 UE Santboiana (convincing from Ordizia once Goia brothers were back, Sant Boi is a different beast away from home)
Barça Rugbi 33 - 14 Complutense Cisneros
Independiente 3 - 55 Universidad de Burgos-Bajo Cero
Ciencias Universidad Pablo de Olavide 31 - 31 Getxo

All games were played as expected, so 18 out of 18 so far. And with one further postponement in DHB, we have played in total 70 out of 72 in national leagues.

Mario Pichardie from Wasps Academy (although I think he was playing in National League 1, but still tied to Wasps) and Sergio Molinero who had gone to Massy this summer. They also brought a few months ago Xabier Martín Mujika who had been in an English college tied to Saracens.
