It looks like Independiente is going better since a few games.

Who is your favorite team for promotion ? I was looking at standings, I see many "classical" clubs being leaders (Gernika, Hernani, La Vila, Pozuelo), contested by a few others (CAU Valencia, Almeria). Almeria has a nice stadium, using the old one from football. That could be a great development tool for this club.

Hey guys, I am updating Spain`s Wikipedia page, but I have two questions regarding Miguel Velasco and Joel Guillén. 1.) What does Miguel Velasco work with, the forwards or the backs? 2.) FER says that Joel Guillén is a delegate, does that mean he is a consultant or a temporary coach?

Miguel Velasco works with the forwards and is responsible for our improved lineout and maul. Used to play for Vrac Valladolid.

Joel Guillén isn't a coach but an administrative team manager. He's tasked with all the paperwork work on site, working close to the team.

It should be between Bizkaia Gernika, La Vila and Pozuelo. Hernani really looks a step down and Unión Rugby Almería will probably the price for their inexperience at this level. Even people from Almería admit that they haven't got the budget to sustain a DH team right now.

New TV partner for Spain, as REC opening game against Georgia will be broadcast live by TEN TV (and on tape delay by GOL TV, who already broadcasted 2019 South American tour and some Top 14):

We will only know after a few games. Teledeporte was frustrating because ratings were low and live coverage was often affected by so many sporting events on weekends. But TEN has no online streaming and lacks the kind of exposure RTVE offers on social media and in their news shows.

It's not a straightforward choice, I believe TEN has never covered any sport at all, it's a TV channel often targetting female, LGTBI+, young, urban audiences... Not the first thing you think of when talking about rugby.

They target young urban audiences but don’t do online streaming?

There must be a good reason like not paying for online broadcasting rights for the amount of American reality TV shows they have.

It looks like the best Spanish team i ever saw. It i s much stronger than the team vs Georgia.Spain are heavy favourites against us right now, considering this roster.

Was everybody happy with the broadcast on TEN? Have you seen any viewing figures?

Last year's team against Georgia was better, and 2018 probably too

Broadcast was good but viewing figures were a disaster. Like 6 or 7 times lower than in Teledeporte.

I see 5 important additions. Still not THE BEST XV Spain could potentially field, but clearly this is a grudge match they want to bag.

Question, I may have asked this before, but is Lucas Rey (Pau) officially on board to play for Spain or still on the fence?

Santos explicitly mentioned him and Heaven for this REC in an interview, but reality proves otherwise.

When figures are so small they are not reliable. There are less than 6,000 machines to control TV audience in Spain and TEN isn't put by default like Teledeporte, nor has other sports shows carrying casual audience towards rugby. Tomorrow we will know how many watched the game on tape delay in GOL and I expect the number to be higher.

In any case it's a result that further supports my crusade about FER needing to bet on streaming+delay on TV...

34,920 viewers and 0,31% on delay. Still a 50% reduction from usual TDP figures...
