I will be happy if I am mistaken, but for me Meskhi in defensive game looks awful.

This will be Georgia's first attempt at a Grand Slam tour. If successful it will be the first for a decade and only the tenth ever.

Grand Slam tours:
South Africa 4 of 9
New Zealand 4 of 9
Australia 1 of 10
Georgia...

But to count as Grand Slam they must play Scotland in the final round.

Theoretically they may, however at group stage Georgia plays vs. England, Wales, Ireland.

I'll still wait for the official confirmation of Georgia participation in 8N.

I thought they were due to play Scotland anyway. Maybe that's been cancelled because they're playing the 8N instead.

Don't think so, or see why. The Scotland game was pencilled in as a warm-up for Scotland prior to the 8N game. The same weekend Ireland and Italy are playing their rescheduled 6N fixture, England are playing the Barbarians and Wales and France are playing each other in a warm-up. So it's two weeks before the start of the competition, doesn't clash with any other game, and Scotland doesn't have anyone else to play that weekend because all the obvious candidates are busy.

As far as I see it they will indeed play all four Home Nations sides away. They could potentially play Scotland twice.

If you mean test game Scotland vs Georgia on October 24, it still is in agenda, and as far as I know GRU is in favor to have it.

That's what I thought. Has any team other than South Africa, New Zealand or Australia ever attempted a Grand Slam tour?

I'd assumed this game was reason for Fiji swapping groups (so that Georgia weren't facing Scotland twice). Which is better than the other, far more likely reason - so that Italy might avoid having to play Georgia!

If the Scotland game doesn't go ahead (and I imagine Scotland will be keen also; we could do with the game time before we play Wales), then it means Georgia will be swapped out of a group containing two teams they had planned, at different stages, to play anyway this Autumn. I can only think of one reason for doing that...

Great news!
How to grow rugby worldwide?
Look at the world ranking in July. Teams ranked 1-10 have to play one team from 11-20 (they don't play in a regular competition) away the next year. 11-20 play 21-30 away and so on. Yes, it really is that simple.

WOW This is a massive spotlight for the Lelos! Congrats, lets enjoy each minute of it and the learning curve will be high!

Now that we know about this scenario, we could get into mathematics and coefficients.

I wish the best to the Lelos and georgian Rugby. I am sure that, independently of the results, Georgia will have improved at the end of the tournament.
