As discussed elsewhere, the Teros are playing the South American Rugby Championship. This weekend they play Paraguay at Asunción.
They will play Chile on May 7, Fiji Warriors on May 14 and 21, and Argentina XV on May 28.
All those matches will be held at the Charrúa Stadium in Montevideo, except the Argentina XV match which will be held in Colonia. I may attend the Charrúa matches and take some photos / videos.
In June they will play the Nations Cup versus Emerging Italy, Romania and Spain.
In November they will play test matches versus Tonga, Romania and Germany.

Re: Rugby in Uruguay
The Teros are currently playing without Old Boys and Old Christians players. Both clubs are competing at the Torneo del Interior B in Argentina.
In group phase, Old Boys had three wins and one loss, whereas Old Christians won all four matches.
They advanced to quarter-finals and will play each other this Saturday.
If either team wins the tournament, Uruguay would get a spot in the 2017 Torneo del Interior A.

Can you explain how the Uruguayan Championship works? How is the promotion/relegation system?

Re: Rugby in Uruguay
Dear Victor, the Uruguayan Championship changed format this year, because of the Americas Rugby Championship and Torneo del Interior B.
Last year, First Division had 8 teams: Cuervos, Cricket, Carrasco Polo, Champagnat, Old Boys, Old Christians, Pucaru Stade Gallois and Trébol. They played two round robins and playoffs.
This year, the first semester features a Qualifying Tournament with 11 teams: the previous 8 plus Ceibos, Seminario and Lobos. It will be a round robin.
In the second semester, the top 6 teams will play First Division and the other 5 teams will play a separate tournament. It will be two round robins and playoffs.
Here's the 2016 URU calendar (it's a bit outdated):

Re: Rugby in Uruguay
Yes, there is, and I read somewhere that if they achieve it a third Uruguayan club will receive a berth in Argentina's club championship.
Ooops, I now think you were still asking abour Uruguay's domestic tournament. Sorry

Ceibos, Seminario and Lobos were promoted to First Division by a political decision. Next year they could remain or be removed, there's no fixed rules.
First Division - Qualifying tournament standings:
1. Carrasco Polo, 20 pts
2. Cuervos, 18
3. Trébol, 18
4. Cricket, 16
5. Old Boys, 17
6. PSG, 11
7. Ceibos, 6
8. Old Christians, 5
9. Lobos, 4
10. Seminario, 0
11. Champagnat, 0
Old Christians is playing with a second team, so they may miss the Top 6.

It looks like the USA have also bidded, although Uruguay seems the favourite and will be visited by World Rugby inspectors in August:

The article also says Uruguay will host in October a tournament involving Los Teros and A sides from Argentina, Canada, USA, Fiji and Samoa.

According to that article, the six teams would play three matches each.
However, the four Americas teams would love to play Fiji and Samoa, not each other.
It would make more sense to have three Americas teams and three Pacific teams.

Re: Rugby in Uruguay
Sounds like a close game, is there any footage available? Like will it be uploaded to YouTube or does a media outlet own the rights if there is any. Does the winner, in this case Old Christians, get to compete against Argentinean clubs or is that something else altogether?
Also are Old Christians and Old Boys the historically dominant clubs because those are the only two I've heard of?

Yes. But the club with most titles is Carrasco Polo, that finished third. These 3 are the 3 big clubs.

Old Christians and Old Boys will play the new Nacional de Clubes B, new Argentine 2nd division. Carrasco Polo and the 4th placed side, that will still be decided, will play Torneo del Interior, which lies below Nacional de Clubes. This means 4 Uruguayan clubs in Argentina's national clubs system.
The Uruguayan Rugby Union also anounced that the 5th and the 6th placed sides will face an International tournament against Brazilian Championship "Super 8" champions and runners up, however Brazilian Rugby Union told me that there is nothing confirmed. Let's wait.
The fourth place in the Uruguayan Championship will be decided in a Repechage between Trébol and Montevideo Cricket. Champagnat has already taken the 6th place.

Re: Rugby in Uruguay
Nice news for Uruguayans. Arlequines RC, from Rivera, in the Brazilian border, debuted this year in a Brazilian competition, the Rio Grande do Sul state 3rd division. They emerged as champions yesterday, 18-07 in the final against Guaíba RC.
Rivera, in Uruguay, and Livramento, in Brazil, are form one single urban area. Brazil-Uruguay border there is in fact an avenue! Very curiouse. In one side of the avenue is Brazil, in the other is Uruguay. As Mercosur/Mercosul is like EU, the border is open, and it is in fact a single city.
